We already know about Pidge & Harry, or are you talking about Tarcs puckering up to the vast majority his teammates last night? :? Back when we won twice as many as this mob in the 90's ( ;) ), punches would've been thrown if any of us decided to asert a bit of sporty man love like that during GF celebrations! What a disgrace! ;)

Fitzroy put in a good effort chasing Para Vista's 207. We were in a winning position at 2/96 just before the tea break, until a poor decision got giggsy out. We just couldnt develop another decent partnership after that to get over the line. Richie Marshall was pick of the bowlers, best ive seen him bowl, Josh Vines bowled well all day and Fricky the grand final machine took a 4fa.
At the end of the day, it was a good quality game and both teams battled hard right to the end. Unfortunately, PV won it again!
So close yet so far...always next year.

As I said mate, each one of you & your Club can hold their heads up high. You took it to the reigning champs and only just came up short. Well batted yourself fella and Giggs was unlucky & batted really well too. Onwards & upwards for you young blokes. Plenty of Clubs would be envious of the potential on-field position Fitzroy is in right now, with you young fella's coming through the ranks..

Congrats to Cuz & the boys on achieving 4 in a row. :supz: Great result lads. :ymapplause:

We talk about winning key moments in games, and while The Hulk's pluck off Superbad was a game-changer, how important in the whole scheme of things was Wilson peeling 13 off the last over the previous week bowled by Loechel?? 194 is all of a sudden not as daunting, especially in the the final 10 overs requiring a run a ball. ;)

Tippin' there'll be a few sore heads today.. 8)

Well done to the Para Vista lads, sounds like a cracking GF.

Unfortunately I couldn’t get there as for some reason in Div 4 Paralowie wanted to keep playing till the very end and they ended up losing Outright by and Innings and then some.

Great work by the Fitzroy C's and even though he copped a bit on here after the first week, Todd showed what a match winner he can be smashing 65 and putting the game out of reach from Paralowie.

We had our presentations last night and to get 100+ people including former players just capped off a great year for the club. To lose 7 A grade players from last year and to still make the div 1 GF was a great achievement.

Bloody bouncer has announced his retirement as A Grade skipper, his record is outstanding, making the Grand Final every year as skipper, and as a club we say thank you.

Enjoy the off season everyone, hope to see a lot of you at Fitzroy on Monday night.

Ps We will be putting on some light food as well.

what a catch by the Hulk... still cant believe he held that one. Fitzroy played well and I would have to say were just in front at before that first over after drinks. Losing Super and Azz in the one over hurt them, but it didnt stop them going for it. The game was never over.... until Pidge walked to the crease (sorry Pidge  ). PV boys well played to all, its been a pleasure to play alongside all you blokes and cant wait to do it all again next year!

Goat Herder wrote:Tippin' there'll be a few sore heads today.. 8)

not as sore as i was expecting... but damn tired! Was a great night out celebrating with all the PV boys at the presentation then off into town! Ended up catching up with a couple of the Fitzroy boys in town as well. Must admit, it was a bit of a laugh watching Pidge put all the moves on some girls for a few hours only to share a taxi home with me and Harry

not sure the missus was happy with me crawling into bed at 6am but damn the night was worth any trouble i got into!!!

I'm just a forum bully though, Rita The ETA Eater...?? :p

Para Vista certainly not disbanding. Can't see the Enfield/Kilburn merger going ahead, especially if the rumour of them wanting to play out of Kilburn and drop a concrete slab in the middle of the oval is true. The Pt Adel/Enfield Council invested far too much dough into the oval with lights etc for it to go backwards with a concrete pitch. Watch that space I guess..?

Congratulations on winning your first (and last.. ) Club bowling trophy on Saturday night bored! For the record, bored made Club history (I'm assuming..) by scooping the pool and winning the Batting, Bowling, Fielding and Club Champion awards at this season's Presentation Night. As per Club policy, a player can only win one of the bat/bowl/field trophies, and despite much coaxing from spintwin (and possible threats of violent repercussions..?? ), bored opted for the most unlikely of the 3 awards. The Hulk was then awarded the batting trophy and Oxygen Thief the fielding in Div 1.

Also, congratulations to Club stalwart & living legend, Ronnie "Komodo/Run Machine" Rathjen, who stitched up the Div 3 batting and PV B Grade batting trophies with a stellar 2nd half of the year, at the ripe old age of 47yo. Special mention must go to Typewriter, who missed the 2nd half of the GF and ensuing premiership celebrations due to the cricketer's bane - a wedding during cricket season!! How the groom allowed this abomination to occur beggars belief...

Will see some of you tonight at Fitzroy, where a sneak preview of Carnival pics will allegedly be on show.. ;)

at Kilburn provided we can keep cricket alive next year it will be turf, and we will not be merging with any one. Its up to us as a club to try and save it. But we are not interested, and either is the council for that matter to be a hard wicket side. End of story

We will do our best, although for now the main goal is captaining my C grade side to a flag this Saturday, would be a good end to a very tough year at Kilburn. And then I get the joy of starting from scratch to get Kilburn up and running well again. the joys lol.

Cant make it there tonite, work is too busy.

Just want to say that Fitzroy should be proud of their efforts on saturday. During the week i went through the
score book and noted that this team had only scored 120, 130 and around 150 odd against us all year but to make
178 under the pressures of a GF is a fine effort.
Fitzy's were in it all day, i can definatly see a flag or 2 coming your way in the not so distant future.
