She wouldn't be able to. She wouldn't be able to resist the charms of Geoff Riddle. The great man was spotted yesterday on the sidelines charming one of the most respected mothers in this competition.

Cheers to Greg Matthews and his Fitzroy crew for sticking around for a beer yesterday. They got to watch another vintage Andrew 'Grubby' Wehrman innings which included a one handed six  The Roys have certainly got a heap of new boys in their A grade, and will take time to gel under their new skipper, but with youth on their side they should get stronger the longer the season goes.

im not quite sure who the state selectors are this year, but i heard Rob O'Gormon captained the Rose Park B grade side yesterday to a win, the team he had and with really only 10 players, this guy is a true leader and heard it was an inspiring captaincy!

I believe Holland is away on a cruise isn't he? Besides from what I heard NEK couldve played with half a team and flogged Enfield - chased the score down in 24 overs after they dropped Atkins on almost nothing too.

no dutchy is correct as he was away.....
enfield did drop pistol on 0 ended up on 59 no.... they just bowled way to short. gully was the pick of the bowlers for them
( except the one that slipped from fingers and was put over the road ) other than that he was a loan ranger in the bowling stables for enfield.
dutchy will be back for the next game against adelaide lutheran.....should be a good game .
whats the ground like at lutheran now ? back to 2 day games now ,so should settle a few sides down and see how we all stack up against each other.

We played on the 2nd hard wicket oval, just east of the turf deck behind the clubrooms. All ovals have been top-dressed with beach sand, which appears to have been dredged and pumped from West Beach. Take your beach towel and maybe a small plastic bucket & spade.... ;)

The Adel City Council have dumped a massive amount of white sand onto all 3 ovals after they were used as parking space at the Royal Show and the run ups have been replaced/re-laid on the main oval, hence why we didn't play on it. The ovals should be in prime nick in about a month I would imagine. Not sure whether you will get on #1 oval this week or not Smasha.

a) No, he was unable to arrive until after 3pm I believe, hence his appearance in the B's.

b) Yes. I'm not sure whatever happened to the adage "Out with the old, in with the new"... :p ;)

I thought you had to wait the same length of time you were off the field before you could bowl?

Not at all mo', we all play under the same rules. I just think at least one of your personalities needs to brush up on the Association Match Rules, as at least one of you clearly have no understanding of them....

6.7 Adjusted Rules

(d) Despite Law 2.5 of the Laws of Cricket, a player who is absent at the start of a
day’s play may bowl as soon as he or she arrives.

goats', i wasnt speaking about the rules of the assocation, i was talking about different rules for different players at Para Vi$ta cricket club, Marshall is allowed to turn up at 3pm and still play A Grade, but one of the greatest players your club has ever seen, is not allowed to do this

Don't worry about the Moses crowd, they don't know what day it is!

Well done to the Fitzroy guys on Sat, battled hard and tried to the end. Once there new blokes gel i think they will be a strong team. Good bunch of guys who are very experienced.
