I think you misunderstood me Beam, Russel bowls very good line and length when he is bowling meds but the 2 games i seen lastyear,the spinners were hardly good line and length.

Your a pretty tough critic buddy. i think Russell's little spinners are more than handy, he doesnt turn the ball much but hits areas consistantly and with his height gets the over the eye line of the batsman then gets nice lift when it bounces.

If Feltus was fully fit, id back him in to be a full time spinner in that side with McCarthy, Feltus, Kent, C. Figallo or Stama as the quicker blokes.

The only thing he is quick at doing is changing clubs!

Not sure about on field banter being any different now than 20 years ago? Maybe a bit less personal and pointless stuff now, which I think is a good thing, It doesnt hurt to try and at least be a bit clever and creative if you are going to have a chat with someone, you can still put the doubt in their mind without being overly abusive. Plenty of advice being given about how the other team could improve their cricket from both sides in the Brahma vs S North grade 2 game on Saturday.

Is Scott Mac going to Captain the next association game? Surely not if he is going to set a example like he did on the weekend, from all reports was not happy to be captain and even went as far as ringing the coach late Saturday night saying he cant be fu##ed and will be late. Not sure if this is what the young kids really need to hear as they work hard to make the team.
The Wizard once said on here that Scott would be a great leader, unfortunetly a great leader needs to be responsable and that is exactly what is missing from what i have heard. I hope this gets back to Scott so he then might think its a privlidge to be Captain of a side, and never to be taken for granted.

He bowled Newman off of a full toss and Morris mis-timed his cover drive, he did say that one drifted away a bit though where all of the other balls swung in.

I honestly think Scott is one of the most gifted sportsmen going around, i watch him on the footy field and have also played cricket against him, and think to myself, if only i had half of his ability, unfortunately his attitude on and sometimes off the field is a disgrace, do you think as he matures he will improve his attitude?

Very talented....that has never been questioned.

When in charge, he's confident, astute and tactically very good. The sooner he realises he needs to be the whole package on and off the ground he'd be one of the best captains you'll see. I think we're all waiting for the penny to drop for him.
