And I completely understand why you came up to the stumps, but as you saw, the percentages say the ball just doesn't stick off the mediums more often than not when you're up to the stumps.

We had an A Grade district keeper the last few years before this year and I'd still tell him to go back for that simple fact. Has nothing to do with keeping ability....its playing percentages.....thats just my opinion.

Nah you're all good Oz.. Didn't take it personally. Was just expressing my interpretation of the topic mate. Agree with what you're saying about percentages.. Sometimes though extra pressure needs to be applied. Especially when a bloke's batting half way down the pitch! Lol

Just for the record we got Scotty out with a edge to the keeper upto the stumps to Stevie ritzema. If its a feint edge the keeper should take it alot more times then he doesnt.

I've heard one, LUKE JOHN FLANIGAN from Rosie's will be making a trip down to Mofflin Reserve next season if Daniel Thomas returns to the club...

Thats true, after single handedly leading R&C B grade to premiership glory he has agreed to help out the poor mob at Central United gain success in the top flight ;)

Congratulations to Andrew Carmen on winning the McKenzie Medal, a thoroughly desevered winner and arguably if not the best, then the most influential player this season...

and to think he thought I was joking in the semi when I told him he isnt the shortest priced favourite since Black Caviar.. :P

In other news from the preso night..

more than a little embarassing that the Grade 1 premiers couldn't even show up to collect their awards

Also Para Teachers in Grade 4 got club of the year.. :? WTF?!? How does a single team club in the lower echelons even come into consideration?!?!

Scott Keylock apparently was sniffing around for highest bidder for his services next season. Opening bid began at $10 and a pizza but after polling 6 votes in the McKenzie believe it blew out to $10 and THREE pizzas - All party!! Craigmore have firmed as the favourite for his autograph..

i know nutink !!! bit early to speculate, wait until september 30th, then we will see who is where... we, like all clubs want to improve and recruit... Ace will have many clubs after his services, he will do whatever he wants to do and we will speak to anyone who wants to play for us. and Milo has stated many times (both drunk+sober), he really enjoyed this season, the youth and enthusiasm they bring makes it very enjoyable, hopefully more so next season with a few more wins..

Yeah, 5ish...

Smoked to cover between knee and ankle height, but straight to the fielder. Was closer to ankle height, but didn't stick.

The next one was next over.... Keeper up to the stumps to the medium pacer....NICK !!
Keeper being up pretty much takes the nick out of the equation. Ive never been a fan of that.

Grenville did it to me in an association game and the ball got through him went for four and we tied. I hate it bigtime, takes any slips out of the game aswell.

agree, not a fan, especially for no reason, maybe if the bowler is getting charged, ok, but really too many negatives , nicks, slips, byes, ... no for me

Well done Andy....was my tip to win it. But runs and wickets and having the best season doesn't mean you'll win it.

And to those slagging us off.... We were at the presentation that really mattered... About 4:30 Sunday afternoon and having drinks with our good mates, Rosies ;)
