i drove past the oval the other day and it looked bad from the road! are the bowlers run ups still the main problem or is it the lack of grass coverage? some of the ovals are struggling but if it becomes dangerous to play on there is a real problem! does anyone know if it is a council oval, and if it is they have a lot to answer for!

Yeh im fairly sure the council own the oval.

Hello there WOW old mate/buddy ol pal  if the council own oval would they be responsable if a player broke is ankle on the pitch,as i have heard that there run ups are pretty poor.

hey guys the season is coming along nicley! heres what ive noticed

goolwa-great bowling line up but love to choke
willunga- 1 word peek, nothing else to bother about
mclaren-young and led by some experience dont know what to expect yet but can go either way from here
Compass gold-good batting team, but no real wicket takers left when num leaves and nash is away
maroon-few experience players that hold the team with the bat but get these 3 or 4 out and u r home and hosed
aldinga- garrard and schofiled are the shining 2 players of the league atm, how long can they keep it up?
Ebay- 1 minute they play like the best team next is not worth typing, still dangerouse if they make the 4 will casue damage
Pt eliiot- big surprise atm taking wikets under the radar, expect them to trail off ;)

Can anyone remind me of the weather policy in GSCA?

From memory, it's 38 degrees forecast for Victor... is that correct?

What's the heat policy this season?? Are we going of the forecast for Victor or Noarlunga and what weather report decides whether we play or not, eg. Channel 7 tonight, Power FM in the morning??

the weather rule say's if it is forecast on the fri evening news to be 38 0r greater at victor harbour, cricket is cancelled.

how-ever if it is forecast 38 or above at noarlunga the exect will meet and decide what following course will be taken out of the below items;

1. start earlier to avoid hottest part of day
2. schedule additional drinks breaks
3. rotate players at fine leg so that they may have extra drinks between breaks
4. allow players to interchange on and off the field without restriction between overs.
5. reduce the length of the match
6. CANCEL THE MATCH.

For people who cant look at the bureau of meteorology site the forecast for victor is - 34
the forecast at noarlunga is - ***38***

the exec will meet and inform a club rep about what course of action will be taken

Just for the record southern wont be playing, their weather is 38 at noarlunga cancelled.
premierships is what it is all about

I'll stick my neck out and put some hard earned on Maroon's over Goolwa..

Binns to bat out the innings, Maroons to post a reasonable score, and the steady attack to defend...

Bays easy.
McLaren at home easy.
Compass Gold over Willunga.

well u certainly know how to pick them offcutter... dingy getting up gd performance against e bay, willunga bouncing back to take the points over compass gold, goolwa smashing compass maroon by doubling their score easily and mclaren to win easily at home... choked and couldnt even manage to get 117 really says something about those mclaren boys this year whats happening down their!!! 0 from 4 offcutter, might have to keep the tipping to the proffessionals!

Fair point WR, however you'll see by my opening line that I though that was going to be some upsets... didn't get the right one's though!

Yes, I'll leave any match tipping alone from now on..

Great day of cricket at Goolwa oval on Saturday. Plenty of wickets fell (16) as Goolwa won outright by an innings and 6 runs. Was good fun and both sides enjoyed the match with plenty of sledging and laughs!!

Yank just struggled to put one good innings together with Hosking making 70 odd and then a duck, Micka James a duck and then 43, Koster a duck and then 60* while Conaghty made 80 odd and Day 70 odd for Goolwa. The real difference in the end was the catching, Goolwa B-grade held just about everything!!

WOW this is what i am lead to believe, or at least till xmas is what he said after the game on sat if i remember correctly. Massive out for compass gold as they also loose Num after next week. Really tightens up the comp as suddenly the premiership defenders aren't looking so strong.
