Might get away with it on hard wickets but it is especially bad news for any matches scheduled on turf, lets hope the forecast changes as the week progresses and all is fine for the first round.

TVCA Draw also released. Round 1:

Mt Torrens v Birdwood
Palmer v Eden Valley
Lenswood Ranges v Gumeracha
Cambrai v Paracombe

The game at Palmer the toughest to pick. Mt Torrens, Gum and Paracombe would be favoured on last season's form.

very reliable sources tell me tarque will be player coach at scibs this season but yes will see on saturday.

HCA games this weekend:

Aldgate vs Onkas
SCIBS vs Mt lofty
Uris vs Bridgey
Meadows an extra 2 weeks off to help the premiership hangover

my tips are Onkas, hear the gate a little behind the 8 ball and not very well prepared
lofty to get up over at cherry gardens
uris to be too strong from the raiders at home

others tip?

haha just read the sports section of the courier

"Club stalwart Scott 'Techno' McKenzie is bowling with plenty of pace from a longer run and the side is confident of a finals berth in the quest for its maiden A-grade flag since 2004-05."

Geez did techno write that himself. Also seems a strange move to appoint Ben McGowan as captain taking over from Andy Adams. Is Andy not playing? Benny Mac doesn't appear to be an influential leader amongst the group but good luck to the guy!

Is Tarque still in the country?

After giving no idication that he was leaving L. Creek apart from about 6 weeks ago when told the president he might have trouble getting off work earlier enuff to take trainings, he hasn't been heard of since. After countless efforts to contact him were fruitless, the Creeks could only assume he wasn't coming back.
Pretty poor way to leave a club i would've thought.

LOL not sure where that info came from considering I've only been to one training and that was about a month ago. You can always rely on the media.

Here are my tips this week lads

Meadows to smash the bye Gus Frazer BOG on the cans followed by B Dawe
Onkas over Aldgate a bit too strong with Ducan & a few others on board
SCIBS over Mt Lofty but who knows
Uris over Bridgey close game but bridgey a lot to prove after last years GF

Techno bowling fast wow i have heard it all now  maybe in 1985

The Courier indicates that only 5 HCA clubs will field a team in the Bs. So just 12 teams across A and B..too many prefer to play one day cricket it seems. Sign of times.

Big news getting around that is going to have a significant impact on hills A grade draw is that bridgy have pulled their team at the last minute! Sad news really that the team who played off in last years GF couldn't get a squad together! I hate to say it but it seems cricket really is dying with less and less people committing and juniors not coming through like they used to!

Wow, pretty ordinary that they have chosen this option rather than toughing it out.

Apparently they just didnt have the cattle and have elected to drop back to A2. Probably could have made the decision earlier rather than 7.30pm on the Thursday night of the first game! Tough gig for the HCA to make a new fixture again
