A young fella might need some August fielding sessions ;)

That was straight after tea and would have had you guys at 6/80 i'd think?

Should have been caught - Especially by someone who calls themself Catchit!

Oh well we have all lost a GF - Oh hang on.... ;)

Pfft anyone can win a GF.. takes real skill to lose 3 in a row 8)

Oz: Retiring.
Scotty Mc: Pirie.
Willi: 50/50, possibly to another PDCA club.
Parkhouse: Retiring.
Davies: Turf.

Wont make a big diff, they have an abundance of youth who are capable of putting up their hand. An A grade keepers spot up for grabs might see the return of Ace Jnr.

I heard Sewell to Kilburn for some $$..

There'll be an addition or 2 to the group too...

Willi one had a few clauses involved.
Parkhouse one I heard about a month ago.
Davies one is probably just recycled.

About 2% of rumours this time of year come into fruition.

Believe R&C will not be losing anyone next season at this stage, but will be working hard during the off season to strengthen the club in particular the B grade who will go to Grade 2.
Also believe the club is looking to have a couple of womens sides.

Yeah, 5ish...

Smoked to cover between knee and ankle height, but straight to the fielder. Was closer to ankle height, but didn't stick.

The next one was next over.... Keeper up to the stumps to the medium pacer....NICK !!
Keeper being up pretty much takes the nick out of the equation. Ive never been a fan of that.

hey oz i think also you bowled the young fella when he left a ball he thought was outside off stump??? hopefully the young fella learns from that and spot on about keeping up to the stumps from mediums as its luck if you catch it anyway i think....

Definitely disagree on that without being biased.. The reason I went upto the stumps was to also change Scott's shot selection which worked however couldn't capitalize by holding the chances he gave. He likes to bat quite a bit outside his crease which gives him more range of his shot selection.. Yes he got a thick inside edge which was a tough chance but put down but the intention was to make him change his game slightly which worked to a certain degree. I've kept for over 20 years now and always back myself to take hard ones like the one in question.. I caught big Willy of Russ upto the stumps with a quicker one and have done so of bowlers such as Jamie Harrison, Craig Figgalo & Daniel Jenner throughout the season. Our team plan all year has been to put pressure on our opposition not only with bat & ball but more importantly in the field, which obviously didn't quite work out the way we wanted and planned in the gf. Over all the years I have played and captained myself you must always back your players ability.. Some battles you simply won't win but that's the nature of the game! Again, congrats to SW.. Fantastic season you boys had!

Mate, for the record I wasn't having a go at your keeping at all.

And I completely understand why you came up to the stumps, but as you saw, the percentages say the ball just doesn't stick off the mediums more often than not when you're up to the stumps.

We had an A Grade district keeper the last few years before this year and I'd still tell him to go back for that simple fact. Has nothing to do with keeping ability....its playing percentages.....thats just my opinion.

i see both points...scotty wouldnt of knicked it batting where he was, it would of been a easy half vollie which the way his luck was going would of been a french cut for 4, scotty was further out than anyone this year so we just wanted to drag him back...
