Absolutely you have the POTENTIAL to be competitive, however too many batting colapses etc kill you guys. The players have the ability but not the patience or brain or what ever it takes to switch on and put a bit of value on their wickets!..

As for Adam, yes no doubt mateship was a factor but he also told me it was the $$ offer he received that swung him...

HTFU and play div 2...

mate you know i always play where im put!!! and give 100%

Where are you playing this season???[/quote]

I'm well Farmer H. The Enfield side would has a quality bowling attack and great fielders to compete against even the best sides of Div 1. The batting improved out of sight last year, the only collapse was in the grand final. I think Enfield could challange themselves up in Div 2, and this may be the case if the competetion is reduced to 4 divisions, as I keep hearing rumours of this possible change. But I suspect a formal decision to be made once we have an understanding of who will be playing for Enfield this year.

As for young Adam Gully, the lucrative carrot dangled infront of him was most likely edible, it's no secret the young man loves his food. He definitly stayed for mateship and loyalty. I'm sure he is not alone in wanting to play up in a higher div, and this will happen with Enfield soon, they are building the foundations for a solid tilt in the coming years.

not sure you having the bowling depth for div 1 but def. to be competitive in div 2. Batting needs work, you really lack guidance in your club in that department. I change of captains at the top should help!

I think a 4 div comp is the best thing for the assoc.

As for Western XI, have heard similar rumors, but if they the same players ive heard dont expect great things just coz the name lol! as for the div well they should really go up to div 1 regardless!! Im sure their bowlers can handle it..

Also heard Balneaves, Morris and Hill are 100% for morialta this yr, abt the only driving force behind them choosing to say in div 1

What does everyone think the Heat Policy should be this season? I know some clubs want it back at 40.

I agree with the drinking part, but 34  You've got to be kidding me. Half the season would be called off due to heat.

Is that right... well you learn something new everyday.

Does that hinder your ability to hit runs? ;)

I think a 40 degree heat policy and beers should def be allowed.

When i was playing juniors and started playing seniors, they used to actually serve jugs of beer at tea break and i knew some blokes who the drunker they got the quicker they bowled or further they hit the ball! Was common practise lol! By the time the game was over half the blokes were drunk so u could guarantee a good turn out at the club which in turn meant more money for the club.

However since most clubs dont have a clubroom then i guess this isnt feasable..

Last season there was discussion regarding juniors in the churches comp.

What are peoples thoughts on this?

Also i would love to see a 20/20 competition this season involving clubs across all grades, what a great experience playing sides from other divs and i believe would help close the gap between divisions and clubs
