what was very disappointing and i think JB and Sarge may agree with me is that the naming on a certain runner up certificate was incorrect, made for a good laugh on the night but really how can they (who ever gave the information to certificate makers) screw up a simple thing like that.

But yes back to CK's disappointment in the turn out, this was my first association presentation night and wasnt at all what i had thought it would be after hearing about previous years.

....and news just in

wycbloods has just started his preseason for the upcoming season. Is very keen to lift his (already extremely high ;) ) fitness to a new level. Good work from you bloods, i'd love to be out there with you but im not sure i would be able to keep up such a high intensity that i know u love to work at. Gd luck!!
Come and join in JWKDD it only involves 3-4 x 6-8 hour sessions on the drink a week, but you will need to build some stamina before you can join in with me ;)

Anyone expecting to lose any players from their teams/squads this year?

At the WYC we will be looking to replace R King, R Press and Possibly M McKay who after winning the A grade flag will more than likely all play b grade cricket next season. I guess they would have chosen a good way to go out but hopefully we can keep them in the A's as they are all still contributing enough to stay there.

We just need to find some replacements for these guys which will be easier said than done after looking at the records of these blokes.

I have heard that Westminster school want to rip up the concrete pitch and put in a turf pitch, Westiminster cricket club are considering using the turf pitch, which is allowed according to ASCA constitution. Lots of negatives involved there from an opposition players point of view.

I have heard the same thing Bazza and surely in a hard wicket comp it wouldn't be allowed, regardless of what the constitution says. I wonder if the Westminster Cricket Club if told they can't use the turf pitch will relocate to another oval or will they cease to exist. It may make it easier to allow Cove, assuming SCA folds, into section 1 if it were the case.

If we can get the other blokes in the team fit we might see some improvment there?

If you still have your handbook from last year on page 57 under playing surfaces, it says All matches shall be played on Turf, string or canvas matting or an composition surface approved by the association. I doubt that it will happen but with our association, anything can happen.

Losing our opening batsmen that we had for the last couple of games to either Port or woodville and maybe 1 other batsmen.

Thats ok R. Egan can open the batting and bowling, and keep wicket when he's not bowling.
