who knows? I dont think any of us know. we train wednesday night so hopefully someone lets us know then. It was a really good effort by our young kids last week only just being beaten by a risdon side that many on this forumn are saying will win the flag.

Any idea when it is?

are they having a meeting with Nyrstar are they? Hopefully its soon so we all know where we stand. Thought of one way to fix all the problems surrounding all the ppca problems!
1/ All the clubs that dont wish to play at port oval just programme them at other venues.
2/ Port football and community club no longer pay for combined game meals and it goes back to the way it was for 50 years eg: ppca buys all assorted meats and things and the wives of players and anyone else who wants to help prepares meals for the players.
3/ Let the two clubs who are sponsored by port football and community club play there when they are scheduled to play each other in both A+B grade.

Just thoughts on some issues people have spoken about on here, it will end all this carrying on like this club said that this club said that etc: If we go along these lines then all clubs will be happy and the rubbish stops and we play cricket. Both Wandies and South Port get to play at there sponsors oval the sponsors get to watch the clubs they sponsor and everyone is happy.
We have to look at solution to fix these problems instead of carrying on and this is mine, if anyone else has any im sure all cricket lovers would love to see them.

Lbh your club hasn't appeared to recruit any older guys to help these kids out, the team I saw on the weekend seemed to be very young. Might need to get a few of the guys from the Bgrade to play in the As for the clubs sake. Wouldn't want to see any young players turning away from the game after getting rolled for very low scores each week. However the bowling will be very good in the future, swing bowling will worry the best batsmen.

I know Props play Risdon in the A grade for the shield, Risdon should be putting a very strong team out there this week.

In the Bgrade Risdon play Sollies....Risdon would have to be favourites after Sollies lost to Port Germein. However who knows what the teams will look like this week.

Meant to be a bit of rain around this weekend too, Southport wont be playing then.

yes you are correct we were hoping to still have davis and williams etc: even though davis told us he was going to retire we thought we could get him playing. we will get better thats for sure.
Did you give any thought to my previous post? PS: i think both teams scores were pretty ordinary and if you dont mind me saying i didnt think risdons side looked that strong even if you include twigden and johnson. I mean i know they will make your side stronger but to challenge props, wandies and south port i think you will struggle.

We managed to beat Wandies and Southport last year. Can't remember if we beat Props in any home and away matches.

Bring in Twigden and Johnson and the bowling is very good, plenty of options. Maybe lacking a spinner, unless I am forgetting someone. Batting might be slightly weak but if someone can anchor the innings all of the guys can make runs. Should be able to beat Southport each week and perhaps Wandies.

There are a few guys you could have tried to recruit lbh, for example all those unhappy Risdon boys you talked about last week.

I agree that will make risdon a lot stronger. we did try and recruit several players and missed out. we got pipped by south port for b.brown as they were offering to much cash and as soon as he went there another lad we thought we had was j.pavlich. we did try dont worry. there was only two players i spoke that said they were weighing up there options and they both decided to stay at risdon and thats fine everyone is happy. Just thinking south port will be very strong this year with b.brown and recruits.

i noticed on an earlier post that there was someone with a Z in his name who is meant to be a handy bowler. PP Lions gave him a mention in his write ups. Not sure if they have anyone from overseas again but im guessing they will have players from over the ranges.
