It was only due to the fact that these teams were playing in the one day comp and we have a lot of kids playing in that grade and as it is some games, captains take up to 4 kids in their car to away games. Purely distance reasons only. If putting the needs of parents and the kids first is being a negative force against an expanding competition, then so be it. If they were nominating teams in higher grades, it wouldn't have been an issue.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't this in regards to senior cricket and not juniors? If so, a decision should not be based on how many kids your club choses to play in a senior competition. This would be understandable if you were referring to them wanting to enter sides into the junior comp. If a club is reliant on having them many juniors to fill their bottom senior side they should seriously consider pulling that side from the comp.

Holy hell I have never heard any of this CRAP come out of yours or your brothers mouths when you were playing at Craigmore but now that you both have left without any issues you both come on this forum and do nothing but bag the club that you both represented.

The 2 of you are losing respect from some of the members of the club that you played at, I dont understand why you would write some of the crap that has been written on here like the above. Your brother was on the committee last season and was the B grade captain and never once thought that playing some juniors was the wrong way to go. You also captained the B grade in his absence and didnt have any comments then.

So from now on if you have nothing positive to say about Craigmore keep your comments to yourself and dont bag the club.

That's brillian SF... i never made a comment about not playing younger players. I simply stated that a decision to enter a new side into a senior competition should not be made on having junior players in your side!!! And, i never directed my comment at Craigmore, it was very generic!!! And, I'm pretty sure I haven't come on here and bagged the club... but clearly you are of the opinion that I have!!

I am of the opinion that blooding some juniors is the only was the keep a club strong. I'm just of the opinion that entering a new club should not be based on travel to the locations these clubs are playing. Different if it was the other side of the city!!!

Thanks Broca!!!

What does the highlighted post mean then Broca?

That statement tells me you think a club should pull a side as they have juniors playing in it, correct me if you think I am mistaken.

That statement is in reference to the comment of voting against a new side into the senior comp because a club (and by that I am referring to all clubs) has so many junior players that travelling to the nominated destinations becomes an issue. I for one, and you should already be aware of this, fully support the integration of juniors into senior cricket but I am of the opinion that junior players should not impact on the nomination of a new club into a senior competition. Which in turn, means that if travel does become an significant issue because a club (any club) is unable to fill a senior side with sufficient senior players then those clubs should reconsider the number of sides they nominate.

I dont know why you bother saying its not directed at Craigmore when you know it is but that being the case ever thought maybe they dont fill the sides with juniors but juniors wanna play senior cricket??? Whateva the reason a club has the right to vote yes or no if we decided no then thats our choice as a club like it or not. If that wasnt the case why vote in the first place just make your own decisions as an Association instead.

I agree that Craigmore has the right to vote anyway that it wants. But base the decision on what is going to improve and grow the senior competition not on the fact you don't have enough seniors to fill all the sides you have nominated. If your juniors want to play seniors (and good on them for it, most of the people talking on here likely did) and are the best players to fill that team then deal with it and dont complain or vote against things for the wrong reasons.

I wasnt directing it a you "duck-mann" at your brother. I agree i never had a say in the clubs decision thats for the commitee to decide. I just wanted to clear up we dont just fill teams with juniors more they wanna play thats all. I think there is a bit too much club bashing on here probably not very neccessary to improve pdca especially when other leagues view this aswell.

And that is exactly what I am trying to say. My comment is generic and the fact is was based on a reason behind a vote by Craigmore is irrelevant. It is simply that I don't agree with that reason and I would still be of the same opinion no matter the club who voted for this reason. And absolutely every club should, and does, have the right to vote based on what they believe is in the best interests of that club.

And it is great that juniors want to play in the senior comp and that Craigmore supports their desire. I'm simply just saying I don't agree with voting against adding a new team to a senior competition because of having a large number of juniors makes travel for that team hard. At the end of the day it is a senior competition and some travel is required. It's the reason behind the vote that I don't agree with and is nothing against Craigmore. It is a good club has many great people.

Not only Craigmore but most clubs that have juniors play those kids in the seniors, so dont make this about Craigmore.
I realise that they voted against these new teams which they have made public which I dont agree with BUT every club is entitled to their vote and their say. Why bag them for standing up what they believe is in the best interests of their club.
Why is there all this negative crap on here about Craigmore?

but arent we setting a bit of a dangerous precedent by allowing a team to be named after a country? I have heard that there is government funding for immigrant groups to set up sporting teams to help them integrate into society better but surely they should be naming the clubs after the suburb/area they live in just like every one else??
Soccer has issues between clubs that are named after countries with people bringing "excess baggage" on to the local sports field...

Not trying to start any major debate here but thought it was an interesting subject...

I agree and coz ive had a few this might sound bit retarded lol but here we go

I dont think a side should be allowed to enter any competition in any sport in Australia named after another country or carrying a name that clearly seperates them and identifies them as "different" from others.

I think it isolates the side/club from the rest of the competition. If you were a young AUSSIE kid living in the area, dont you think it would be akward and uncomfortably playing for or approaching a side called "Bangladesh", esp if the side/club is built around and full of people of that nationality.

Also do you think a competition would allow side to enter whose name was "Australia" or "whites only" or some ridiculous crap like that?

You might argue that most sporting sides are white dominant and hard for immigrants to feel comfortable and fit into, but clubs dont openly name themselves or operate in such manner than makes some new person think they cant approach the club!

I dont think by forming their own sporting sides/clubs is exactly "intergrating" - sure they are partaking in aus sport etc but they are still isolating distancing themselves from AUSTRALIANS!
