Which A grade club batting trophy winner, was SACKED from his club by the coach for stealing over a $K from a club function night only for the players to argue that he remain at the club, and then for this player in question to do a backflip on those who stuck up for him and supported him and has moved to a new grade club with little less then a phone call to the captain offering some very weak excuses about higher opportunity??? almost a shame they dont play each other untill round 10

A little left hander from Prospect is off to Woodville......
There are some very disappointed team mates that backed him up that have been let down badly....

Did the little left hander have a previous club west of prospect closer to the beach before exiting Prospect Oval?

I don't think it warrants dragging family in to it !!!!
Anyway, this type of stuff gets around pretty quick, so I would suggest he may be in for some interesting times on the field..

There is some very serious allegations being thrown around here boys.
You would want to make sure your facts are rock solid before posting.

Something doesn't quite add up for me here....

If the player involved has stolen money from the club - surely Prospect would be happy to see him go?
Why is there so much anger involved?

Perhaps whatever issue there was has been resolved easily and they are only upset that they are losing their best player?
Have they cleared him?

Secondly, why would a successful club like Woodville sign a player that is apparently such a bad egg?

probably not... sleepy wont tolerate smart mouths. Plus i dare say there wouldnt be enough money floating around the club for him to get his hands on to even interest him in coming up the top end of north east road.

When was the money taken? I have heard that the night in question was a fundraiser for the players going on the cricket trip?

Yeah mate, Playing CHF for Centrals in the Reserves, Played Ressies at North Adelaide as a junior, Gave up the Cricketing ghost. There was talk a few years back that he was going to have a hit at Gullies, but either Jets refused to clear him or nothing eventuated!

he did come out for a few hits early on a few years back... but footy lured him out of the game again.

Gee a bit behind on the Ryan Porter bit aren't we. Played Centrals Ressies last year, this season saw him in the Barossa playing for South Gawler (I think). Has recently been spoken to by a Grade club trying to lure him back to cricket now that his SANFL dream has disappeared. If he can re kindle some past form, believe he would be a good pick up for a club. Stay tuned.

Been away for a few years, but this name is the same bloke that played for Northern Districts?.......

Former Essex professional cricketer Mervyn Westfield is to be charged with conspiracy to defraud over claims he deliberately played badly in a match.

He is alleged to have dishonestly agreed to bowl against Durham on 5 September 2009 in such a way as to let a certain number of runs be scored.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said it had instructed Essex Police to charge Mr Westfield, 22, of Chelmsford.

He is due to appear at City of London Magistrates' Court on 24 September.

The pace bowler was arrested in May after suspicions were raised over a 40-over match.

Yes, he's the same player who came over with the Darren Lehmann Cricket Academy and represented Jets for the last two seasons.
