knew it wouldnt take long for this to be brought up!

you guys were unlucky due to a freak occurance which broke all records. But, thats the benifit of finishing top.

The other one i remember was against Modbury in a GF. They had us on the ropes. Only needed another 3 or 4 wickets
with the Hill brothers at their best steaming in. In came the rain and that was it.
They drove their cars on the oval to cover the pitch but the rain didnt stop.

Even if we dont finish top, and the three days are lost to weather then i wouldnt begrudge NEK of the flag.
(presuming we made the GF of course!)
they have been a consistant team for years now and probably deserve to win it. Having said that though
would obviosly still like the opportunity to defend it.

thats why we all play cricket, the unpredictability of all things that can change the game.
if you (whoever the teams may be) make the gf and the weather sets in then so be it, I mean the object of the game is to finish top and for all other teams to knock you off, hense if it gets heated out or rained out if you not top you take the risk.
we lost a final due to heat and that is why each year we try to finish top. if not then YOU MUST BEAT THE TOP TEAM IN GF simple really. IMO,

Spot on Smasha. That's why we have minor round matches.. ;) Otherwise we'd just get together in March, pull some names out of a hat and play Finals.
