Hagedis, have a think about it son, your sides batting displays were easily the worst in div 1. The fact you made finals doesnt mean your a gun side and personally you were probably lucky to play given some off the performances. Your side was so erratic with its results and even the semi final proved to lack any "fizz".

with comments like these I can't understand why you would ever get abused?????

Its a bit harsh Mr gobbler! coming from someone that left morialta to chase a div 3 premiership! congrats mate!
and as for saying that we we easily the worst batting side in div 1, why don't you go and play for Fitzroy, rose park or Paralowie(except the last game we were cruising and lost late wickets to hand them a spot in the finals) who couldn't pass the total we set each week, we just couldn't match it against PV an NEK who had it over us all year! Look at the two A grade semi final games, we made 150 and lost, NEK made 160 and won, you cant say we didn't put up a half decent effort

I never said we were a gun side, I just can stand people like pidge, who talk s**t when they have nothing to back it up! and in this instance yourself also!

keep walking Phantom :butthead:

Did you get bowled out for 50 something this season?

yeh that was a shizenhousen day i think most people had there work breakup christmas function thing the night b4 :partyman: but hay even with that dismal score our average for the season was still 158 ( I to scored that day with a solid 16)

nah i play 2 games Monday nights at Modbury and just started at windsor on Tuesdays with a few PV boys. Im only out there for sh!ts n giggles and a bit of fitness, dont think i would be able to do it competitively at all.

Not a bad effort for a "pedestrian" attack...

Interesting to note, 'he of reptilian descent', that B.Starke took 3/9 off 8 that fateful day atr Grand North, but didn't rate a mention about this time last week..??? ;) I predicted he would take at least 3-for last week in the GF - which he did.. 8)

Shyte may get wickets at times, but good bowling produces wickets too, especially when batsmen haven't got the patience or the 'game' to cope with it.. ;)

reflections of 2008-9............ahh gotta love the public service...RDO today...WOOT WOOT

Best team all year - PV
Luckiest team all year - NEK ( PV dropped 17 nek catches in 2 games, excluding finals)
Worst catching team - PV, Fitz
Wort batting team of the decade - Morialta
best bowling team - full strength fitzy/full strength morialta,
best batting team - nek/pv
best fielding team - pv
best sledging team - dunno, people dont sledge me!! i wonder why??

As for comments of us having the best team after xmas - i reckon we did, but we didnt play as a team. No excuse, just a reason. You can have a team high flyers, but its not a team if there is no consistant interaction between team members. This is true of most teams, and you will find the teams with the most stable line ups like PV and NEK did well. Its always hard to play well when the teams chop and change, and im sure we would all agree.

I would suggest that everyone gets behind the Herders/Scooters objectives for the CUSA cup and Championships for the next few years. Encourage all teams and all capable team members to participate and nominate for selection. There is a chance to play on adelaide oval, and we need to foster a competitive mentality for future churchie players to represent us against the other local assosiations.

Gday BB, i thought you only ever got onto safooty when you were at work. And apparently theres no difference between looking for reasons for underperformance and excuse making. Apparently.

It was 17 catches in the ONE game against NEK BB, plus a handful in the GF.. But you reckon we're the best fielding side..?? How does that work?? Bad catching is bad cricket, but we do work fairly hard on our fielding, believe it or not... ;)

Cheers for the endorsement with the Representative sides mate, we think we're on the right track, and after speaking to a few NEK boys after the GF, hopefully we see a few of their faces out there at training next year too. It's a good environment we're trying to promote, there's no 'pinheads' allowed and we have a great nucleus of talent at present.. This year's CUSA Cup was encouraging to say the least, notching up a win against Para Districts for the first time ever. And if anyone wants to donate their spine (preferably in good working order..) to BB, he'd greatly appreciate the gesture..

Worst batting team!!! are you forgetting Rose park, a whole batting line up cant consist of just one player, Brenton Reidy. Even when he did make runs, the rest struggles to get a total! And as a point to proove it, Scooter took 21 for the minor round and 11 of them where against Rose Park! any team that cant score of scooters bowling, not even reidy could, i would put them as worst batting team!

What about worst bowling team BB?
