Whether it's the right or wrong thing to do, it's done now and I'm sure DJ would be feeling a little guilty and it's a decision he's going to have to live with for the rest of his playing days. I'm sure when Eastern Park make their way back up the grades and DJ plays against them in the future they'll remind him of this, especially "the hill".
Was there any money involved for his role at EP? You would hope not! I have no time for blokes who think they are above the club they play for, i am sorry for sounding old fashioned about it, but DJ obviously didnt feel the love he thought he was entitled to. Yes he is young but you can still appreciate a club that is willing to stick its neck out and give a young guy captaincy. Finish the year and then move on.
I would strongly doubt that DJ was playing at EP for money, if they were looking to spend money on players I'm sure they'd look for a more established, experienced player that could bring some professionalism to the club. Maybe Super might be getting something as coach, I don't know and it's really no one else's business, I think Super just seen it as an opportunity to work with a struggling club that has great long term potential.
I think Super earmarked DJ as a younger player that could relate well to EP's talented youth's.
