Not sure its that bad. The wheel turns. In terms of A Grade, a mass of leadership left the club a few years ago. After a rebuilding year the year before last, last year to make the semi final was a good effort. On the eve of this season Kelly retired, his leadership and quality can't be underestimated. Also haven't seen two other fast bowlers (S.Johnson due to injury and Renshaw overseas) who were key last season. Clearly the results in 1st Grade have been disappointing this season, but the next group of leadership are already playing in the team and doing well, just need time and to build around them.
There were no recruits, a policy of bringing through juniors. Really have only added Drennan in recent years, who has been excellent.
Probably the biggest concern is losing the likes of Hutchinson, J.Smith, Burridge, McDowall, Pudney and now Tilbrook over the last 3-4 years who all would've been marked as A Graders or were playing A Grade. There is still plenty of talent though. Enough to be confident of the future, should the axe not fall from the SACA.
Obviously all of this stuff hanging over the clubs head with the SACA can expand any slight cracks. A decision one way or another is needed soon because changes are happening one way or another and it is about now you need to be planning for next season.
The club is still strong.
