That's what Netball SA did.

Has merit.

I've heard the same. Which means Adelaide will probably lose the City limits and gain some territory west of the railway line.

Would also think that Prospect would lose some ground too.. This would have to be the worst decision ever to have been made

Agreed. If you had to come up with worst, dumbest, most backwards idea you could then this would be it.

Or at least in the grand final.

Apparently there is a paper on the reasons WT are one of the clubs in the gun which includes that they haven't produced any state players lately.

Ummm... Trent Kelly, Peter George, James Smith, Kelvin Smith

Ahead of several clubs surely

Pretty sure Peter George was the last Test player SA produced as well. A proud moment for all involved at the club - a large gathering watching him on the big screen at The Henley. There are also 3 WT lads in the emerging Redbacks squad currently.

You can't just flick away a club that has been around for over 150 years, is functioning well, strong juniors, financially sound, great facilities on field and off, despite the club rooms being sub-leased from the Henley Footy Club. 4 Club Championships in the past 11 seasons.

You've got history as the second oldest club in the state. You've got an Invincible in Ron Hamence. A legend in David Hookes. 12 A Grade Premierships (only behind East Torrens, Kensington and Sturt).

If getting rid of the West Torrens DCC is in the best interests of cricket in this state then I am flabbergasted.

If giving Uni juniors to justify their existence in the SACA competition is in the best interests of cricket in this state then I am flabbergasted, twice.

Aerie - I think a lot of people are flabbergasted that your ex coach is still involved in the club and was wearing WT apparrel on the weekend. What happened in the rooms certainbly didnt stay in the rooms!

I am not involved closely any more so not exactly sure of the story. Do know he puts in many hours and the positive contributions he has made to the club outweigh some of the negatives.

TTG v Uni T20 final to be held at Pertaringa on the 31st of January starting at 3pm.

Should be a great game with some quality quicks and clean hitters of the ball strutting their stuff.

West Torrens have picked a bad year to eat itself from the inside out. Seems to me that they are very well behind the other 2 clubs in the gun. Should be an interesting Grade Cricket committee meeting next month...

Swings and roundabouts...

Glenelg may have gained Tilbrook. But I believe they've lost Nick Clayfield - a kid from their country zone who they've invested significant time and games in - to Uni.

Would love to know what happened there. Played As for Bays earlier in season now changes clubs to play B grade?

He's been unhappy at Brighton Rd all season from what I've heard. Several clubs have tried and it looks like University have succeeded.

Not sure its that bad. The wheel turns. In terms of A Grade, a mass of leadership left the club a few years ago. After a rebuilding year the year before last, last year to make the semi final was a good effort. On the eve of this season Kelly retired, his leadership and quality can't be underestimated. Also haven't seen two other fast bowlers (S.Johnson due to injury and Renshaw overseas) who were key last season. Clearly the results in 1st Grade have been disappointing this season, but the next group of leadership are already playing in the team and doing well, just need time and to build around them.

There were no recruits, a policy of bringing through juniors. Really have only added Drennan in recent years, who has been excellent.

Probably the biggest concern is losing the likes of Hutchinson, J.Smith, Burridge, McDowall, Pudney and now Tilbrook over the last 3-4 years who all would've been marked as A Graders or were playing A Grade. There is still plenty of talent though. Enough to be confident of the future, should the axe not fall from the SACA.

Obviously all of this stuff hanging over the clubs head with the SACA can expand any slight cracks. A decision one way or another is needed soon because changes are happening one way or another and it is about now you need to be planning for next season.

The club is still strong.

Good thing you got rid of your coach then because all of those (bar Smith) can be attributed to him.

Not all of them, Pudney was the previous coach. To be fair, all the others had issues, majority want to be picked in A's when they had never performed in B's, and when given a go never did anything. Fine line between picking on potential or on performance.

Talented juniors these days expect to be handed everything on a platter and don't want to work at it and either make runs or take a bag of wickets to earn promotion!

McDowell was different again, we wanted him to play A's, but he did not want to. Evn refuse to bat in the nets against the A Grade bowlers. When Trent Kelly went off at him for being a soft c..k, he spat it and quit for couple of games, went off sulking. Woodville then targeted him as needed a leggie.

Having said all that, most of those names mentioned woud use the coach as the reason they left!

What a disappointing post.
To name an ex player in such poor light is both unprofessional (in the assumption that you are part of the club with your reference to 'we'), and otherwise simply poor taste on a public forum. To detail half truths that personally attack his integrity in such a defamatory way is without excuse.
I could bother to reply with either:
1. The complete story - warts and all
2. Counter slander
..but the first isn't anyone's business on here and the second would show less respect (if possible) than you.

A few teams pretty close to stitching up a top four berth you'd think. Four matches to go:

140 TTG
120 Northern Jets
115 Woodville * bye to come
100 Uni

95 Glenelg
95 Prospect
85 Sturt
85 Kensington
85 Southern * bye to come

East Torrens on 70. Perhaps too far back?

Northern Jets the surprise packet for me this season. Going really well after a couple of poor years. Will lose Cosgrove after this weekend though.

Few interesting games this week. Glenelg vs Prospect. The loser drops off the pace, winner could be in the four. Prospect gone off the boil?

Kensington vs University. Uni flying at the moment.

Woodville vs East Torrens. Woodville would want to keep winning with their bye still to come. In good form and could finish East Torrens' season.

Sturt (vs Port) and Northerns (vs Adelaide) have games you'd expect them to win.

Great to play on Adelaide Oval of course but I think these games are actually better played at club grounds. It's a great atmosphere at Pertaringa even if there's only a 'crowd' of 200 there.

Will probably get more than that too, their club seems to support these events really well.

I wonder if Travis Head and all the state boys will be allowed to play? There is a Shield game starting on Feb 3. Would be great to have Head, Cooper, Mennie all playing. Perhaps Mennie won't be as the Redbacks would be cotton-wooling their quicks with Richardson and Sayers getting a taste higher up but you'd hope the batters would play.

Surely he can send down 4 overs without too much trouble
