Maybe, just maybe there is more to the story.
Thats fair but i think the point being is he was captain, i cant remember a captain walking out on his club?

Papas wrote:You would think super was involved in the decision of captain not too much players vote or if it was they expected him to stay for the season no run out on the first loss. Either way EP will move on, ive heard they have already voted in a new captain and vice and both are suited for the job. EP are strong and will bounce back with a win and show him what he is missing out on.

DJ has played all his juniors and senior cricket at Salisbury West, he chose to move to EPFC along with Super. It would have been a tough move to make, i should know i left Eastern Park to which i had played all my juniors at.
Obviously EPFC never felt 'home' for DJ and he has decided it better if he was to play back at his true club. I can totally understand this while i was at Playford i enjoyed my time but it was never the same as playing for my real club.
At least DJ has had the balls to admit this and ask for a clearance back to SW, it is in the best interest of both parties that he has left before he couldnt play again this year. This is a much better option than playing the year out for us while not wanting to be there.
Personally i hold no grudges against him and to be honest i wish him the best in both on and off the cricket field.
Now for Eastern Park its time to appoint a new captain and find another number 3 batsmen, atleast we have another 11 rounds to get the right people in place.
As had been said before DJ is not the first and certainly wont be the last player to change clubs during a season.

I have been sitting back reading and biting my tongue, but enough is enough, its very easy to get on here and bag a bloke but when someone walks out on there club after being appointed captaincy it is a disgrace, take the captaincy out of it and yes everyone would understand, so DJ has made this decision so DJ will have to deal with what ever is thrown his way.
His brother Scott also is one to always want the attention so it doesnt suprise me that DJ would be the same, i dont think DJ has anywhere near the ability of Scott but at the same time has Scotts ego, they couldnt possibly play in the same team together for the simple fact there wouldnt be enough people to stick there heads up there ass, DJ needs to take a good look at himself and re think why he wants to play cricket. As the old saying goes there is no i in team.

He is only pretty young though, sometimes the grass appears a little greener on the other side of the fence, it doesn't mean the fruit is any juicier though. Sometimes you need to jump the fence to experience this for yourself.
Whether it's the right or wrong thing to do, it's done now and I'm sure DJ would be feeling a little guilty and it's a decision he's going to have to live with for the rest of his playing days. I'm sure when Eastern Park make their way back up the grades and DJ plays against them in the future they'll remind him of this, especially "the hill".

both are great guys once you get to know them and they do show a fair bit of confidence about their ability, which most times they produce on the field - this is probably one reason why people who don't know them have a crack at them - at the end of the day it is a game and a bit of fun can be had along the way![]()
It is well known Scotty is going back to Westies for Footy and DJ will probably follow but the one thing is they will always be welcomed at The Lodge
Back to DJ moving on, well if Eastern Park have and DJ has, then perhaps everyone else should as well...move on that is
