Where was cove placed when they played in the sca?

As i have played in southern & suburbon comps i dont think there is any diffrent in the comp playing level, but a massive diffrents in facilities. Cove had won the last 3 flags in sca before the move, this years team was missing 5 players from the previous years

ah fair enuf. from all reports all is not well at cove atm. their last game against wyc was a shambles. smashed for 400+ and then lost 20 wickets in a day on the best batting pitch in the comp. cost my team a home final.

We did bowl well that day mate. The first innings they attacked cause they were chasing 419. They lost wickets trying to win. The second innings, although skittles quickly, they played there shots but didn't give their wickets away. King, mark and hoppy bowled extremely well.

I always knew he had something special in him while he was travelling through the Stingray juniors. It was so good to get him back.
And watch another Shaun who is heading down the same track. I wouldn't be surprised to see McIvor join Tanner in the Team of the Year next season.

As a keen observer of SCA it would be nice to see the stats from the grand finals uploaded onto My Cricket to see who failed and who handled the pressure.

Does the SCA have a fines system in place for late results/entry of stats like other associations?

You have 12 months to enter the results in Hound, and any longer after that you get an official warning. ;)

Buy an Argus. Its all in there despite the journo having to chase up books because he knew the website wouldn't be updated.

Yes but the adulation enjoyed by that reporter when collecting the books from his "local" SCA club would make it all the more worthwile.

Great reception from his old mate Patto and a pretty happy gentleman called Mark Boes. It appears he had a pretty good couple of days.
Pity about the guy in charge of the scorebook though ------ too busy celebrating to help the journo find the book. Had to slip over to Shoeland to eventually get the A-Grade details and found the losing captain much more helpful.
Would have been much easier if Boesy was still in charge at the Port !!!

Great article by Messenger but you have to go to Argus for scoresheet.
Also nothing in Messenger about the grades below A's ----- again Argus had it all.

Nice initiative by the journo. Hope he wasn't involved in the stump run:) when collecting the books. The Argus doesn't seem to make it's way down the hill.

Maybe the SCA executive could put a bit more value on results being entered to assist the journo, who I might add has been doing an outstanding job for many years in covering the SCA.

Get over yourself BTP he is a very young captain celebrating a great year and probably got caught in the moment of celebrating. So if your bag other people then at least make sure your scores are correct in the Argus!!! I know some of the junior scores are definetly wrong!!!

So what you are saying is I shouldn't worry if I don't get a look at the scorebook but I still have to get the scores correct. This bloke didn't even try to help me out but its a sure bet he still wanted to see his side's win in the paper.
So you reckon the Junior scores in the Argus were wrong. Funny about that ----- they came straight out of the scorebooks. If you bag other people HHH at least make sure you are taking your complaint to the right source because what went into the Argus was what came out of the scorebooks.

Saturday night you copied the A GRADE scores out of PORTIES A GRADE book.
It's not the young drunk captains fault you lost the information.

Correct ---- I'm quite happy to admit that. My first words when going back to the Port club Sunday Night was "I've screwed up, could I have another look at your book?" It's just that I thought Porties would be happy to try and help me rectify the situation so that their Premiership win would get its just recognition.
Luckily the Noarlunga Cricket Club came to my rescue and Porties' triumph was subsequently reported.

Heard a few rumours about at games from two different Associations are that Great Southern have no interest in having Noarlunga and that came from both Associations. I heard from one of the Associations that Noarlunga lower grades sides may be looking at Adelaide Suburban as they are not interested in Great Southern.

Noarlunga's line has been it's a united Club decision to leave yet these rumours don't appear to paint a picture of everyone being happy with a move to Great Southern.

Port Noarlunga seems to be linking in with Adelaide Suburban Noarlunga leave.

It would appear the end of the Southern Cricket Association is very close. It will be a sad day as I have memories of playing in the SCA some 18 years ago as a Junior and having reccently returned it will be sad to see the comp die. I just can't see how it will survive with Clubs leaving or looking to leave and clubs not being interested in joining as teams are leaving.

If the vote was almost 100% to leave the SCA for the GSCA and players aren't happy then they obviously weren't there to voice their opinion.

PUNTER wrote:Port Noarlunga seems to be linking in with Adelaide Suburban Noarlunga leave.

That was the general thoughts as soon as news of Noarlunga leaving came out but not 100% sure it will run that way.

It is sad as it was a very competitive association. Noarlunga have decided to leave and that's the nail in the coffin really after the recent departures of Cove and Reynella.
I said 10 years ago that the SCA should try and approach the GSCA about combining and I got the old "she'll be right mate" attitude.
