If my mail is correct Kapunda put a last minute bid in to try to stay in the top grade and not be relegated to the Ressies. Also heard from not a real reliable source that Sandy Creek were the only team not to attend the meeting so a vote was taken and the decision unanimously was Kapunda to stay up and Sandy Creek to go down and play in the Reserves

One of the most funniest things I have read in a long time

Norm - I see your advertising in the local rag for a coach. How much you willing to pay for my services? Talking to Gav today, he told me I need not apply cos he's got the job.
Are you prepared to pay the price? WILL YOU PAY THE PRICE?

They may at least need a leg spin coach, if not a head coach :D

hows is everything at bomber land is there a mass exodus from the club due to relagation or are the guys going to stick together to ensure promotion next season.

Whats happening with Ben parish early talks were that he was heading to tanunda this season or is he staying down in town.

No mass exodus but we will be very competitive in 2010-2011 with a crack back at the proper A1 title in 2011-2012 season.

The Duke forged out a fine career in the back yard of his parents home against his older brothers,
He would've averaged around 9 with the bat and 80-odd with the ball, the bowling average is probably
flattering though as 94% of his wickets resulted from 6 & outs.
He probably has most of the credentials required for this coaching role, but sadly he is a good bloke
and just won't fit in down there.
Perhaps they could re-animate Douglas Jardine and offer him the role????

Yep, would be great if we could jump on stuff quicker, but we can't read every thread every day (my last job was another matter, I did bugger all work and lots of SAFooty). We encourage use of the report post function (little exclamation mark icon in the bottom right corner of the post) so that we get alerted to things quicker and would rather read the odd unnecessary report than find the site or a poster in legal trouble.

Back on topic, this coming season will be a cracker again - 2nd division A grade will certainly be a very high standard of cricket, Kapunda will have their work cut out to head straight back up I reckon.

I heard a rumour at footy training last night that both the Burgess Boys are leaving Angaston to pursue Cricket elsewhere. Can anyone confirm these rumours as it would leave a big hole for the Angaston Cricket Club if both the best batsmen and bowler left the club.

Ben is going to play somewhere that it snows, so everyone will suffer the same handicap when running across the ground.
Brett is going to play somewhere that the oval is situated adjacent to a KFC.
Underthepack.........you have been watching too much of the muppet show with your kids and have become one of them yourself.
Meanwhile, I did genuinely hear that the duke has been offered 4 figures to open the bowling for Ango this year,
in tandem with Brett Burgess, the old fire 'n 'brimstone attack, nothing but short balls from 1 end.
Klemmy has been relegated to 2nd change due to his unwillingness to play football this year....Boooooo to you Klemmy.
Another rumour is that Ango has already penned (with crayon) the signature of Ben Burgess's son, under the father/son rule,
the young fella has spent day and night at the Burgess Cricket Academy for the last 4 years and oozes talent.
I don't want to pre-empt anything, but he could be the next Graham Gooch.
Can you confirm any of these Norm?
What about that Mike Teakle is camping on the Madgen's front lawn waiting for a glimpse of Ben?

I have heard something similar. Ben has been persuaded to play at Nuri as he lives across the road from the oval and also I think Lyds and Ben's daughters are in the same class at school or something like that and the wives have been on their backs to play at the same club. Brett won't come up from Adelaide and play cricket if Ben's not playing for Angaston.
