how did 3RS hit em? top scored for WYC and hit sambo for a big six i hear? but got bowled by sambo from a ball he didn see lol

Sounds like semi final when he got wickets in amongst being hit for probably the biggest six I've ever seen.

Were the boundaries brought in at Hackham? If so, surprisingly low scoring game after a cracker last round.

Yeah boundaries were in a little bit. 3-runs short hit them well. scored most of them on the leg side but the six was pretty big. cleared the boundary and the fence. The fact that continous wickets fell all day is what kept the scores lower the bowling and fielding was of a very high sgtandard.

someone who's name should be 'correct' ;) didn't catch it, it landed 2 inches infront of him and he didn't move and it was off JWKDD's bowling. It would've been 7 fa 60 if he had taken it.

A big chance for the last round games of Ramblers Vs WYC and ICC Vs Sheidow to be played again and possibly at the same venues. That would be very interesting for that to happen. Get to have a good look at each other this week for the real stuff the week after ;) .

So final round games are below:
North Haven v Glenelg ANA @ Largs North Reserve North Oval
Westminster Old Scholars v South Road @ Westminster School, West Oval
ICC Sharks v Sheidow Park @ Hackham Community Sports Club
Western Youth Centre v Coromandel Ramblers @ Western Youth Centre
Keswick v Plympton Footballers @ Marymount High School
Coromandel v Mitchell Park @ Hewett Sports Ground

With some freaky coincidence, the last round could well match the first round for the finals - 1 v 4, 2 v 3.

There's a ton of scenarios with how close it is with the top 6. If Glenelg get the outright and Sheidow lose ( even if Plympton win but not by much), you'd think Glenelg's % with an outright would get them in. If Plympton win, Sheidow lose, and Glenelg only get first innings, they're in. But Sheidow winning should see them through.

If, sorry, when the Ramblers beat WYC and if Sheidow win, it could see Sheidow move up to 3rd (will come down to % again).

Can anyone remember a season where there were 8 outright wins in section 1? Absolutely crazy. Look at Coromandel for instance, 3 outright losses in the 1 season, yet they are sitting 9th! Shows they have both talent to win games but also a tendancy to give away an outright without much care.

And Bloods, I reckon you're right, there might be quite a few phone calls going on this weekend seeing what's happening. Not that I can imagine a team stooping that low ;)

having looked at the ladder, which is finally updated. Glenelg are a chance of finishing 6th even if they win outright. The only way we can miss the finals is for Sheidow to win and gain some % and us lose and lose some % and Plympton would have to win outright. As RB said for the bays to now make it they will need to count on sheidow and plympton losing and winning outrigh themselves. Sure makes for an interesting last round and those phones will be running hot hey RB ;) .

The positives that came out of our game on was our young 15 year old leg spinner who took 5/60 odd of 20 overs, and the 17 year old opening batsman who made 27 and 35.

That is a decent effort from any leg spinner in this comp let alone a 15 year old. Sounds like he has lots of good years of cricket ahead of him bazza!

And he stuck to his game even after he got hacked back over his head a few times from a bloke with questionable technique. Can spin it. Line and length will be the key, but that comes with time.

I noticed G Whellum made an appearance in Sect 6 this game, just happened to secure the win for them over our boys in a tight game. All in a days work for a bloke who made 400+ runs i sect 1 last yr. I guess he may have only played 1 week...

I was chatting to the 15 year old's brother (can't remember his first name) and I commented on his control and asked how old he was. Very surprised to hear he was only 15! Although some of the antics helped convince me ;)

You've definitely got some talent in that side Bazza. The left-handed opening batsman looks like he could be damn good and the other opener was handy too. If you can get him to stop trying to hit balls from outside off over cow-corner, he'll go far.

I must say though, fielding at short mid-wicket when your number 11 came in was one of the strangest things I've experienced in cricket. For those who haven't seen this guy bat, he makes Chanderpaul look technically correct. After taking guard, he basically faced up as if I was bowling to him from mid-wicket. I was sure if he connected I was going to wear one in the face. He got a pair of golden ducks, but it doesn't surprise me with that "technique". That guy can bowl though, I was surprised he didn't open.

I hope you gave AF a beer for dropping you at first slip. Made the catch look bloody difficult. I was impressed you even got bat on it, it moved a heap off the seam.

AF, Grant Whellum wasn't suppose to be playing at all, had hand injury and was going to have another game off ( he missed rd 9 aswell ), but a couple of guys pulled out at the last minute so he ended up playing.

Talk yourself up champ. Quick to jump on a bloke when it's his first bad day in the field. Besides, I dropped a much easier one than that of the String Bean.
