I know you well mate....believe me. But the fact I have spoken my mind regarding certain players will prevent me from giving away my identity. I dont like to cause dramas so I will keep it at that.

I have played with and against you :D

Anyway....kudos to you on your unbelievable individual performance in your flag 2 years ago. You stole that flag from Westies.

Lightning McQueen wrote:It's a bit quiet on here, might have something to do with the time of the year, so here's some discussion, who are some of the best players the PDCA has seen over the years. I'll name a few.

Batsmen
Corey Roberts (SCCC) was always a handy wicket to take
Dave Dohleguy (PGCC) had all of the strokes
Rob Howe (Craigmore) still knocking up the runs
Jason Presland (CDCC) very consistent over the years

Bowlers
Kenny McConnell (EP) very fast when on song
Gary Sutton (ATCO) used to go pretty well, can still produce a handy spell
Benny Stamatovich (TW) makes you work for every run
John Robins (SGCC) very accurate left armer from a while ago

Dude, seriously....

I have agreed with everything you have posted regarding this comp up until this point. Including blokes from grade 2 like Sutton ? Come on man...

Here is your list -

Batsman -

Adam Ozolins (Sals West) Best player in the comp when he was playing. End of discussion.
Jamie Sibbick (Brahma Lodge) Class act in a consistently average side.
Darren Ellis (Central Districts) Ex district player....very hard to get out.
Ben Stamatovich (Two Wells) Suspect against quality bowling but his record says it all.
Mark Elliott (Sals West) Different era....but Super was an amazing player.
Dave Tompkins (Para Teachers) Same era as Super....amazing.

Bowlers -

Shaun O'Brien (Sals North) Was the gun bowler for many years.....pure quality.
Dwayne Jones (Central Districts) Fast and accurate....and at 6' 7" was hard to face.
Kevin Thomas (Central Districts) Ex A grade district player.....was a class above this comp with the ball. If only he'd bowl off his full run.
Glen North (Sals West) Was the quickest around for a long time. His record speaks for itself.
Tony Carpientiri (Sals North) Best spinner around over his time. Good player.
Robert Drake (Sals West) Ask anyone around at the time whote they thought of Robbie. Gun left armer.

Mentioning Howe, McConnell, Dolheguy and Roberts in the same breath as these blokes is a crime.

Just for my two cents worth
Best Batsman - Adam Ozlins
Best Bowler - Glen North/Colin Rundle (cant pick a winner)
Best Bloke - Grenville Dietrich

That would be Brenton Tomlinson, still playing as a batsman with ATCO now. M.Garrard, very keen competitor, liked a good sledge, what happened on the field, stayed on the field, I enjoyed playing against him.

Yeah BT was solid at best. Mark Garrard was sharpish at times too...interesting action.

Once again....neither did much while playing grade 1... In fact, I dont even recall Riverside playing grade 1 over the last 25 years.

Yeah, I reckon you are right about Riverside, I must say, I thought they'd be finished by now, well done to them for finding a second side and trying to get some juniors up and running. It must be bloody hard, they don't really have a suburb or a winter sport to entice newcomers.

I remember Tully playing around grade 5 regularly.

Bar the odd exception, I just dont believe in blokes being named that haven't done their time in grade 1...

But thats just my opinion.

Thought Craig laird was a good bowler. Just because you dont play Grade 1 doesnt mean you cant bowl!. You have had guys who played state cricket go and play lower than Div 1 does that mean u dont rate them?.
