being at the game for the start of day 2 where Woody Rechs absolutely destroyed Goodwood in the first hour taking 7/19 to roll them out for 90, their big tall opening bowler doing all the damage from one end taking 5 out of the 7 in that hour.....NO mention of that at all

Would have thought that being a local sport write up that a match summary should be on there not what is currently on there

My guess is the messenger scribe was not even at the ground.....

Rechabites prepare a green top did they?
I am guessing that the messenger scribe probably never attends a game.
What has happened at the Rechabites. I see they are missing a couple of their stars and Duffett hasn't made a run yet. Has the cheque book been put away?

Far from a greentop.. more batter friendly than the 1st week!

Goodwood beat themselves with some pathetic batting, leaving balls that thud into middle and off, wild swings/slogs to balls on a length and general choking with the bat....

Has a nerve been struck Mickey?? A bit touchy about the wickets you prepare?? Unable to take criticism perhaps??
There once was a bloke named Fracka,
Scored runs since he was a young tacka,
But alas not anymore,
his shot selection's been poor,
and now they call him QUACKA!!

Why... do you blokes sit on the oval with an esky??

Pembroke just went home after our game not one of them even bothered to come up for a beer. Also when playing at Park 9, PAOC had beers for themselves but that was it, and we felt rude obviously bringing our own so that was dissapointing. Can't expect much these days.

College sides. Typical.

Always welcome criticism where its due.. unfortunatly this accusation/suggestion is way off the mark!

Still, I guess when 1 bloke leaves the ball and gets bowled.. and then the next bloke in leaves the 1st ball he faces and gets bowled too.. it has to be the curaters fault ;)

Steady on mate!! Judging by your first few posts (having a crack at a few players/clubs), I thought you would be able to take a hit in return. I was obviously mistaken.

Is this the article in question???
GOODWOOD v WOODVILLE RECHABITES

GOODWOOD suffered an early batting collapse before fighting back and launching an audacious but unsuccessful bid at an outright win against Woodville Rechabites in A1 Turf Cricket at Matheson Reserve on Saturday.

Resuming at 3/72 in response to Rechabites' 161, the Roos capitulated, losing four wickets in the first four overs of the morning to be skittled for 90.

Goodwood then knocked the hosts over for 150, with Jarrod Enright taking 3/25, meaning they required an improbable 222 off 10 overs to win. They smashed their way to 3/111 with opener Simon Misso belting 49.

Not sure where Green top was mentioned...

The pitch was fine...
The boys from goodwood just were not good enough!!!!!

They had to get through the first hour and failed....

Anyone that takes 7 wickets should get a mention tho...

The real disgrace is your lack of respect for the dead...
But we don’t really care what you think. We only care what the boys from Wood Rech think.. and as none of them have approached us face to face with any issues, they obviously have no issue with us having a private beer first before we went into the bar and bought drinks there…
And we thank the Woody boys for their understanding… Good bunch of lads….

With Trinity notching up an easy win during the week, did Hargreaves get amongst them?? I wonder if his old club is sad or happy that he left.

A HUGE thanks to the legend Aaron O'Brien!!!!!!!!

To put himself out and play a game of 20/20 for our little club ( with no mention of money for his appearance, which is a good thing as no one gets paid at the Roo's) and then to let us promote the night on the back of him playing...
We were able to treat all our sponsors who wanted to meet a first class cricketer, and the night was a great success for the club, both on and off the field..

Of course..

But I encourage all turf clubs to make the most of their contacts to help promote their clubs any way they can....

I heard Marion might have Dan Cullen making an appearance for them, and if the club can promote or make money off Dan playing for them (and Dan is ok with that), good on Marion!!!

So the beers you guys bought from the bottle shop on the way to the ground had some sort of special respect for the dead ingredient that the beers that the WRCC sell over the bar doesn't.
If that's the case then fair enough.
There is no excuse for clubs to bring their own beers and drink them either in the changerooms or on the oval if you are playing at a club that has a bar and is trying to survive as a sports club.
