the rubbish pitch we have at hawthordene?? you must be a batter then. cause for bowlers the pitch is great. and plympton oval is the worst oval in the comp. balls dont last 10 overs there. so dont really know where ure coming from there buddy

As much i hate this i'll agree with Caleb, fancy a plympton person bagging someones oval/pitch!! LOL seriously Plymptons is by far the worse oval in the comp, and yes that does incluce William Light H.S

I do think ramblers pitch is carp aswell but coming from a plympton person?? =)) =))

your oval is 3 inches big, i personally think its an average place to play cricket (im not tryn to start an argument, just my opinion)... and your oval gets used not even a quarter as much as ours....

I was not talking about the size of ovals, otherwise ours would be mentioned (and Plymptons is just as small straight, so bit weird coming from your mob)! i was actually talking about the oval condition (which is always terrible) and the pitch itself. Seriously, plymptons is terrible. ramblers and coro's pitch both shit all over it, and im not a fan of those pitches really. If i had a choice where to play cricket, i wouldnt choose plympton ahead of any other side in section 1...

im not taking into account my shit record at plympton either ;)

Plympton oval is bad in spots, that is because we are a sports club mate, we have footy, soccer and cricket it is in constant use basically 7 days a week i dont think you will find many other ovals like that all year round. If the council spend some money and time and effort on it im sure it would be a lot better.

So being a plympton player knowing our oval could be better is fine by me, but at least it is a fair ground. Not with some carp dodgey matting.

10 years ago plympton oval was an absolute bowling green, best in the comp without any doubt, but the wear and tear of 3 senior footy sides, 3 senior soccer sides, 10 junior footy sides and 7 junior soccer sides takes its toll, especially seeing that these sides refuse to move a few training sessions during the year to give the oval the r&r that it needs.

one thing that i will say about plympton oval is that it recovers superbly, if our batting innings recovered as well as the grass does we'd be top!

the oval at the moment is rubbish, but not through any fault of the pfcc, but i wouldnt say its a bad place to play cricket by any stretch. if plympton oval is the worst oval in the div (and i wont say comp, because the entire comp has some adsolute shockers) then adelaide & suburban section one grounds must be going ok i reckon!

best facilities in the comp, yes, but right at this stage not the best surface, and the pitch is due for a relaying, but that happens every 4-5 years.

ramblers, best shop, joans pantry! a bit of passionfruit cheesecake never hurt anyone!
