what is it about the lodge you guys always struggle to attract players

Waterhouse and Tonkin where good players. Simple reason is we dont pay out any cash but we have a lot of young kids coming thru. Last year in games we had 9 guys under 23 playing a grade at times and all contributed at different times. They just dont have any 'name' yet! We will be around the mark again for finals if the kids improve.

Cash is not the answer.

I can assure you its rare that clubs pay enough money to actually get signings over the line. I mean really, whats $500 to sign ? $35 per game ? Yeah, I'm going to really give up 15 years of service to move for that kind of money. Even $1000, $2000..... Its not life changing coin thats for sure.

In my time I've been paid twice for playing cricket. $20 per win and no ball fees. The second was $30 per win and that was District cricket.

Hey fella's, if you can't take the time to check what you have posted with the preview button, don't quote. If you have difficulties using the quote button, pm me and I'll give you a tutorial. You can't quote on top of 4 quotes, you have to work out how to delete the earliest one.
It becomes very confusing and posters often get the messages mixed up.
Just a bit of a heads up to try and make us northerners look like we have some intelligence.

Honda07 it's all good and well for the kids to play A grade but don't we all play to win premierships!!!! Brahma need to get off the one man band wagon to be a real contender until than i can see them being around the mark without being a real threat!!!

its very unlikely to win a premiership every year so why not blood the kids to be a force in the future.. look at Westies, not many kids in there A grade, just D.J and he just scraps through for an A grade spot.. and if you are talking about sibbick in the one man band wagon he will be the first person to say its a team game and we have plenty of young talent coming through in the side..

DJ, Willie Sewell, Ace Griguol Jnr and Nitni all played A grade for Salisbury West last year. All have come through the system.

2 of them played in the flag.

Parkhouse is another product of the junior system

Furnell the left arm spinner?? If so, will be a big loss. Any other spinners to pick from for the Lodge?

May have been only training but the great man looked far from sharp. If he wasn't captain would be lucky to come on first change. Maybe he is winding down for a shot at the spinners spot.

I think his bowling days are nearly done. Just cant get any zip into the ball after 2 shoulder recons. We are going to have to make 250 every week cos our bowling is fairly pedestrian. Tisdale was at training today but dont know if he is over the yips yet. Hasnt landed one for about 2 years
