No my point is this "team of the year" is just sh!t talk on here, its not recognised by the PDCA or anything. Its only the opinions on those involved in this forum...

You are right Browny, it is just talk but is there any reason why the PDCA could not name a team of the year at association preso?

Thats fair enough, talk on here is just peoples opinion, some being biased to there side. Association should recognise a team of the year, rewards those that had an outstanding season, and could also have group photo with those that make the best Xl on the night. Could be like a Mini Brownlow night

Predominantly A1, but some guys made it from A2 and A3 from memory.

Graeme Cooper obviously made it with his 1000 run, 40 wicket season in A2 as did Mike Watson and Jeff Vaughan.

GRADE 2 PREMIERSHIP
Craigmore 107.89
Eastern Park 97.46
ATCO 92.92
Riverside 82.77

Salisbury West 81.27
Central United 73.56
Salisbury North 67.76
One Tree Hill 39.00

Round 13
Sal. Nth vs ATCO
Westies vs OTH
Units vs Parkers
Craigmore vs Riverside

Round 14
Sal. Nth vs Units
OTH vs Craigmore
ATCO vs Parkers
West vs Riverside

I'd expect Craigmore to take a clear lead into top spot by the end of the minor rounds with an outright win against OTH in round 14. Eastern Park wil play ATCO in the semi final, at who's ground will be determined when they square off in round 14.
Salisbury West will sneak into the 4 this round and if Salisbury North can knock off ATCO will take over 3rd spot as one of the most disappointing clubs in the PDCA have become Riverslide.
These guys were burning earlier on in the season as they do year in year out, they are a far better unit than the lower end of the scale in Grade 2, it's not too late for them to turn it around but Westies are a club that thrives on finals, can they repeat what the Lodge did last season?
The Units put themselves back into contention last week with an outright win, unlikely to make finals but still possible, a terrific effort by the boys regardless.

GRADE 3 PREMIERSHIP TABLE
Angle Vale 129.46 A(a) RC(a)
ATCO 107.08 AV(h) PG(a)
Rose & Crown 99.45 PG(a) AV(h)
Smithfield 94.07 V(h) CR(a)

Craigmore 86.20 NP(a) SM(h)
North Pines 73.44 CR(h) V(h)
Parafield Gardens 72.92 RC(H) A(H)
Virginia 32.78 SM(a) NP(a)

Plenty of cricket to be played in this Grade, the Vale have minor premiership stitched up but any of ATCO, Rosies or Smithfield could be sitting 2nd after this round. Smithfield has the most favourable draw out of the 3 but they'd want to avoid facing off against ATCO in the semi's as they have been belted by them on both occasions.
Craigmore and North Pines have got outside chances of making the finals but it would seem very long odds.

GRADE 4 PREMIERSHIP TABLE
Eastern Park 145.44
Elizabeth East 134.45
Two Wells 124.74
Para Teachers 119.93

Salisbury West 97.62
ATCO 51.11
Craigmore 46.82
Wasleys 30.03

Meh. Round 14 will see the top two play off in what's been a pretty boring grade, the top 4 was pretty much decided by round 2, on a positve, Westies still have a good chance of sneaking in the 4, an outright against ATCO this round and then Wasleys in the last will seal the deal at either Teachers or Two Wells expense.
4 A grade clubs in this grade, 3 of them doing well, I guess it's a bit hard to predict in september when the gradings are getting done.

GRADE 5 PREMIERSHIP TABLE
Central United 135.54 EP(a) AV(h)
Angle Vale 108.92*** RC(a) CU(a)
Rose & Crown 90.87 AV(h) EP(a)
North Pines 77.16 A(a) RS(a)

Smithfield 75.99 RS(a) A(h)
Riverside 72.72*** SM(h) NP(h)
Eastern Park 67.80 CU(a) RC(h)
ATCO 34.63 (NP(h) SM(a)

***Points will added after minor round AV to get approx 9.90 & RS approx 6.61 at this stage.

This has been one of the best grades to follow all season, upsets galore and almost every side has been in the 4 at some stage.
Units would be 1.05 flag favourites but then it opens up a bit to whoever performs on the day and whoever is available. North Pines have been the surprise packet for me, they've come from nowhere and still have ATCO to play, the Riverside vs Smithfield clash this week will end someones season.......possibly, unless there's more twists.

Good side, only changes i would make would be Ben McMullen in and M.Bennetts out reason being bowling average is only 1 run different, strike rate is almost identical and Benny is a much much better batter and fielder than Bennetts. Also in a struggling side i would reward Adrian Grigouls season by making him 12th man. His keeping has been outstanding in the two games we have played them as well.

Also if this side was actually playing in a game i would have Danny Masefield in who has taken 20 wickets at an average of 12 and economy of 2.50, would also be the perfect foil to the other bowlers.

I don't agree with you, 31 wickets is 26% more than 23, Bennetts for mine, there's enough all-rounders already.
Hey snappy! is there a keeper in your list? I think Grigs deserves a berth given his batting record and the amount of pressure he has on him with wickets tumbling around him. I'd take him ahead of Williamson.
As good as I think Ian is and will be, take out his stats against OTH and they aren't that flattering 134 runs @ 12.2 with the bat, 9 wickets @ 18.2 with the ball.
