lol well I'm beat then, no idea seems bit odd..

It's because Grade's 6,7 & 8 play 20 matches for the season, it's worked on ratio, fair call IMO.

I believe the rule is you need to play 33% of games in that grade to qualify.

No issue with varying numbers of games required to qualify depending on the comp you play in, but by the interpretation of the association, the bloke who played 4 D grade games for us can play A, B or C grade finals, but not D grade where he actually played those games!

Still reading at a year 1 level I see. I'm saying that, according to the association, div 8 players need 4 games to play div 1-5 but can't play div 8.

Should use weeks played as a parameter instead of games.

4x games in 2 day comp = 8 weeks = approx 1/3 season
8x games in 1 days comp = 8 weeks = approx 1/3 season

Therefore if someone plays 4x games - 2 in 2 day comp and 2 in 1 day comp = 6 weeks = not enough games to play finals.

Or stimpulate how many weeks or percentage of weeks in the season a player must play.

Either that or operate the 1 day comp as a seperate entity to the 2 day comp with seperate by-laws and qualifications?

Some clubs use the one day comp as their lowest graded side, some don't, there's been controversy with it since Jesus batted first drop for Smithfield.

Nope, Angle Vale will retain their spot in Grade 1 unless they don't want it. Interestingly, ATCO stay in Grade 3 no matter what the result is this weekend.

Weeks played is what I think it should be. Super sub for a week in a 2 day game should count half as much as playing both weeks. Playing 2 one day games should count as much as playing both weeks of a 2 day game. Still have the 32% (why it's not 33% or 1/3 is beyond me) means you have to play 7 weeks to qualify, whatever grade or comp it is. 3 1/2 2 day games or 7 one day games. No difference IMHO.
