Clearly didn't see Tulloch's effort in the goal, Kept the hats in the game until the final whistle. What good is a soccer game? It beats just sitting around, why not have a laugh and build some camaraderie within the team? We will continue to have a good time, you guys just keep making runs.

you are missing the point.. stick to your soccer.. It seems what we practised before the game paid off..

Good luck with that, consistent and umpire do not go together. The umpires are getting worse, the last couple we have had have been ordinary.

Unfortunately I thought the umpiring fraternity was looking great last season, Norm, Super, Dancing Dave and Peter Turnball to name a few, I don't know who they have lost this season, good to see Terry Jeffrey out there again though.

I agree LM, we had Terry in round 1 and I thought he was excellent. He was relaxed and had a laugh with players from both sides. He would be the best we have had so far this season.

[quote="Papas"]We are guilty of playing a bit of soccer before a match but we also kick the footy, throw a vortex and so on. We must not play as serious as some teams if there is thoughts of injurys. I see it more of a get the blood pumping and movement in body.

Personally I dont see a problem with it as long as players dont over do it and go for speccies or hack their team mates. Like Papas said it helps get the body moving and blood pumping. We mainly use the vortex to get people throwing so when we are in the field we are loose.

All good til the young fella's try and take a specky or do something stupid.

One thing I despise is bringing out footys during cricket season.

Especially when they come out near finals time, makes you wonder what the mindset is going into a finals match. Is it bout cricket or are they wondering how their team mates are going in a trial game which is often the case at that time of the year

It seems to work ok for the cockies days, I seem to remember kicking a footy round before knocking your boys off in the one day final last year. There seems to be a few teams following in sandys footsteps

A last wicket stand of 93 didnt help our cause but we got what we deserved when you drop as many catches as we did.

218 is very gettable on the small EP oval but we will have to bat extremley well to chase down this total.

Once again Rory Andrews bowled brilliantly to take 2 for 15 of around 16 overs and Daniel Jeffries 4 for 21, both these lads will be out training with the Under 21 squad today.

Not a good finish to the day then...

Rory is going to be some bowler when he hits 20-21 and has filled out a bit. He was sharp yesterday when I saw his first spell, but prob half a foot too short in length.

Can't believe DJ hit someone in the head....his pedestrian pace would be lucky to get a ball up that high :D

Very bad finish to the day but credit where credit is due the number 10 and 11 batted very well and very smart.

Rory is going to be a champ and realisitcally should be striving to player at a higher level than PDCA especially considering his age. You are right though he probably bowls that half a foot to short. At times you would rather he bowled a half volley with his angle and pace than being slightly to short. Hopefully this is something he will throughout the year.

The bloke that was hit in the head was an ex EPFC player as well, its never good to see anyone smacked in the head leaves a shite feeling in the stomach.

Ian Williamson also bowled extremly well in his first spell with some really good pace, the kid is only 15 at the moment his my tip for the next super quick PDCA bowler, wait to he gets to 18.

R&C have assembled a really impressive side this season, even more so with the inclusion of Daniel Jenner (who I believe hasnt played before this game?)

Really showed us the standard on the weekend to where we need to be at.

Thought Brookes batted well to his strengths and along with Duane set the game up for the middle / lower order to open up after tea.
