Good to hear, i believe that a few clubs have raised concerns about player safety and that the issue has been forwarded to the executive. Playing cricket after so many days in the heat of the day isnt a safe move.

Heat policy is a joke really 41 in Adelaide is 38 in the Hills or there about i understand for B, C & D grades but A Grade cricket should play assuming that all players in that grade are smart enough to do the right things because they actually want to play cricket, especially with neutral umpires, more regular drink breaks etc.!! But im not in charge...

Harvey Dawes = Ledgend and will be missed.

News just in, email from the President:

To all Clubs

As a result of the extreme hot weather experienced this week the HCA has been approached by a number of Clubs querying whether consideration would be given to altering the published hot weather policy.

After discussion today it has been decided that FOR SAT 31 JAN ONLY the published hot weather policy will be revised so that the cut off temperature will be 39 (not 41). This will mean that the policy (for this Saturday only) will be as folows

Play will be cancelled when:

Seniors - Forecast temperature is 39 degrees or higher at 9am on match day.

Please note these are the ADELAIDE forecasts (not Mt Barker).

Forecast temperatures can be obtained by phone on 1196 or at www.bom.gov.au/weather/sa

Please note that this decision has been made taking into account a number of factors in this specific instance including the extreme and unusual week of hot weather leading up to Saturday. It should not be assumed that this decision means that the existing rule will necessarily be deviated from at another time during this season. The HCA also reserves the right to amend this decision at any time up to 9am on Saturday morning should the circumstances change.

Didn't some moron post that Torrens Valley take the Meyer shield more seriously than Hills and that's why they're more successful?? Torrens Valley training for Last Years Winning Meyer Shield included 11 blokes having a hit at the Birdwood nets on the Wednesday before the tournament, followed by a session at the Birdwood Pub!!

Well if Hills are training in Movember we might as well put Hills on the Meyer shield for 2009 already. They deserve it

You guys are awesome, by the sound of things you guys should bat and bowl opposite hand this year cause you are to good for the rest because you dont train!!

Perhaps you can keep our blindfolds on next year, but take the bell out of the ball. That'll help ya! It was actually KJR that quoted that Hills didn't take the comp seriously enough last year. Perhaps he has taken over the reigns as Super Coach, and made them a much more serious unit.

Haha!!

Geez, you've stiched me up there KJR. I dunno how to come back from that. Perhaps KJR took the reigns as Hills Super Coach, got Hunsie away from the TV blokes and kept Slim away from the Hills guys. KJR is this your proudest cricketing moment, as it appears from your posts, you have passion for the mighty Hills Cricket Association and hatred of those despicable Torrens Valley cricketers. KJR did you crank up Hunters and Collectors 'Holy Grail' on the way back on the boat?
