I have just posted a comment on the PDCA forum suggesting a charity day to be organised between clubs to try and raise money to be given to the Queensland flood relief and/or red cross to aid Queenslanders in this time of need. If ANYONE is interested in helping organise a day to raise money for our fellow Australians please PM me. If you can offer an oval for the day??? maybe your company is willing to sponsor the day by covering the licenses and insurances that will be required for the day to go ahead? ALL help would be much appreciated by myself and of course by all of those people who are in need of ANY help we can offer.

With so many big amateur sporting clubs (especially out North) it would be an absolute shame if we all sat back and did nothing!!!

dont put the smasha out to pasture just yet lads. will still be here for the season , I will never leave my team mates in the s**t at this time of the season. doesnt matter if I couldnt walk I would drag myself to the crease if need be.
so wherever you get your info from I would check again. next month could be intirely different but that is out of my hands.
but rest assured you will see me at finals one way or another. for the ones who doubt me bring a friggin helmet
smasha angry now so pi$$ off.

Well its good to hear you're playing out the season. Ill be bringing my helmet for the semi final thats for sure  haha. Im not sure what i fear the most, Getting bouncers at the head or fetching the ball 50 metres over the boundary on numerous occasions  All in all, finals is what we play for, so its game on!
But in all seriousness, i think you are the most valuable player in the comp, so IF Nek are without you, then it would leave a massive hole in the line-up lets be honest.

Do Fast Bowlers mellow in age Smasha? Is it now Smasha the SNAG Opening Bowler of NEK? ;) Must admit you were a nice bloke against us.....just kept bl00dy getting us all out or smashing us over the fence!!!

Think it's been well documented by Auto and others Rose Park have to win this week to have any chance of competing in the major round. While again we won't be at full strength, looking forward to the battle with Pidge, Harry & Co. I'm even ready for the sledging from that serial pest Superbad. We'll need to be ready as we come up against Para Vista the following week and we all know Vista have that angry bloke that plays for them 8-[ ........think his surname is Smith or something like that.

Haha its gonna be a cracking game thats for sure. Who you guys gonna be missing? Im pretty sure we are at full strength so thats a bonus for us.
I thought the angry bloke u were talking about was Richie Marshall, but now that you mentioned Smithy it makes alot more sense haha

Great suggestion duck! =D>

For the guys who went away to the National Championships, this should hit home a bit.. I just spoke to Kenny Suthers (Qld umpire & specialist bus driver.. ), as Lenny Martin (Qld coach) lives in & around the Ipswich area. Lenny & his family are safe & staying with his sister in a risk-free area, but unfortunately his house was submerged - almost completely.. :( He managed to take some items with him during the evacuation, but at this stage I'm not too sure what he has lost. His house may not be salvagable, and only once the water recedes will the full extent of the damage be able to be assessed.

Most of us will know someone, or know of someone, affected by the flooding in Qld, and a great bloke like Lenny will need all the help he can get once the waters subside. With a little bit of organisation I think we can make duck-mann's suggestion a winner and do what we can, some 2000kms away and unable to physically help with the clean-up. I think the only request from our boys would be that the event isn't held at Salisbury West... :p

hey duck -man , count me in mate. and if you need a hand with anything give me a yell mate.
reackon like herder said would be possible to do something,
what about 20/20 comp put a team in from any org or club have some prizes up for grabs and the rest to go to relief fund.
timing will be hard but if we all get on board sure we could think of something.
I for one have family and friends directly afected by the floods.

I was really hoping to get a ground like Craigmore, Rose & Crown or Central united so we could get 2 x 20/20 games going at the same time. The more people we can get there on the day the better! I have had a cash offer from a soccer club to get things started. Even if you have mates that want to play! They dont have to be cricketers... lets just get the community involved as much as possible!!

How about a C&CCA vs PDCA 20/20?? 8)

We've traditionally played each other first in CUSA/SAMCA matches and back in the Frank Carter days, we played inter-Association matches, even before CUSA & SAMCA matches.

Maybe even schedule the 20/20 between Phantom's R&C B's vs Mr Miraculous' Enfield B's that is being feted about at the minute, as the curtain-raiser - just for giggles..??!? ;)

I am sure we could secure the use of Greenacres top oval (Edward Smith Reserve) for the event, which would be fairly central. If Oxygen Thief is lurking nearby, he might be able to diovulge a bit more about that possibility & any costs involved.. ;)

Definitely a vacancy in the role typey. The next SAMCA match will be our U21's (or U23's, more to the point..) on 13/2/11 at a venue yet to be announced. If you're free mate, we'd love to have you onboard. :D

Typewriter, why didnt you post as Hutchy? Everyone knows now that you are one of them.

Anyway Mr. Herder if you need an umpire, Jeff Stephens is available, and his finger is still in his pocket.

Love from Aaron Cavanagh Timm. (Yes that is my middle name! Mum and Dad thought that I should have a surname somewhere).

have heard that the association captain spent more time trying to recruit players to paralowie

if this is true, why would a club delagate pass on info. about trainings ect. and encourage
their players to try and make the side knowing that their player might get poached
by the association captain!!!?? :?
