ahhhh, the year that was 2011/2012......
season is done, rose park won div 1 . para vista lost div 1 .....ok whoopee.....next season should be interesting between these two sides with all the egos flying around at the moment.
herds I say welcome back old man 8) good to see you can still play and have fun after retirement wears off. beers should be cold by the first round mate.
dont know if rose park are trying to be the most hated team in div 1 but the way a couple of posters on here are going I think you will succeed.
but it is good reading during the long break  ;)
before you have a go at this post ....read carefully , NOT HAVING A GO AT ANYONE, JUST STATING SOME TRUTHS

The difference is we don't hide behind an anonymous username (goat herding is more a lifestyle choice than a past-time.. :p), so some peanut will be up in arms with whatever we say or whoever we have a crack at because they can relate it back to you or I. Or, just like this over-politically correct world we live in, some clown will just take offense, even when you're not having a crack. Cest la vie!

Oh, and welcome back literate hotpies! Missed you. \m/

Can you please engage a hotpies persona who has some grip of the English language to interpret what you're trying to ask here? :D

While you blokes are taking cheap shots at Fitroy's & PV's skippers, it's only fair you're own skipper gets put under the microscope. ;) If I was an opposition skipper, I'd rather him be making the decisions than 2-3 others in the side. Just saying.. ;)

Love the banter  Just keeps reminding me there will be another cricket season one day as I like Carey am looking forward to it as this Oval Ball season is doing me no favours. Firstly I'm chasing guys around that are 15 years younger and 15 yards quicker than me, then on Saturday, someone decides my big gonk deserves a fist in it leaving me in bloody mess  Keep the sledging going and bring on season 2012/13. It can't come quick enough for me. :(

Although we just got our 1st win i'm still looking forward to playing Div1 again this year. Seems as tho there is going to be some great on field banter and as long as it stays on field and then beers are consumed after the game i say let the banter flow!

And yet the record books will forever show that skipper making 70 odd in one of the best pressure innings/captains knock you'll ever see to win his team a Premiership & he'll now forever be a Premiership Captain, how many other skips did that this year in Div 1? Go grab a hanky & wipe ya chin GH cos you're dribbling shit yet again....just saying ;)
You make this sound so epic like its never been done in the history or cricket, I think when people look at the 'record books' I think you will find a better captains effort came from Richy Marshall when he made 120 in a GF when his side were 3/20 odd, not to mention his partner Jon Smith who also made 130, and he backed it up the year after making 60 odd in the following grand final, when you have a record like that come back and have a chat, as for dynasty's hotpies, well i'd say you have at least 1 going at your affiliate Mawson Lakes, and thats choking out in finals!!
yeah but Krafty, dont you know who Sir Richard Marshall is???? he is the greatest cricketer the SACCCA has seen, if not i suggest you ask him....so we expect that from Sir Richard Marshall.

choking out in finals? what you on about? i would say finishing top and being promoted up to a division isnt a bad thing, fair enough they lost the GF, but a club that gets promoted after spending so many years in Div 7 would still be a successfull year for any footy club?
course we know who he is, I believe the plan is to unveil his statue at our first home game this year  Back to the choking, correct me if I'm wrong but you were 'stuck' in div 7 for many years because of repeated under performance in big games, aka: finals!! seem to remember a final against houghton to which you bowed out quite easily after being above them most the year, following year a lot of talking the talk lead to another bow out of the finals in pretty easy fashion and to top it off last year after winning direct entry, pretty sure you got a pasting on the big occasion. Riddle I presume when you say 'we got it' it can mean you finally achieved something, so you can have your promotion for being runners up or 'the first losers' and talk that up as much as you like.

that aside as its in the past, all the banter is shaping up for a promising cricket season with a bit more rivalry now, just from my perspective, yes there was hostitlity on the field as both teams play the game hard but have you heard anyone from vista say rose park didn't deserve to win?? yes there was reference to the ground being a postage stamp and I believe the best reference there is that its not so much a postage stamp, more just got the outfield similar to a lawn bowls field!! Krafty personally applauds rose park on an outstanding season but seriously, move on!!
caatch.

  WTF are u on about? The fact your talking about football in cricket banter shows you got nothing to hang your hat on this season. Where have I talked up my football clubs promotion last season? Was I not allowed to celebrate winning a Cricket Grand Final with my mates and brother-in-law? You blokes take all this banter very seriously and personal lighten up FFS it's a bit of fun, your cheap shots at a skipper who is now a PREMIERSHIP Captain is also dumb. Good luck in 2012-13 but until then Rose Park are the reigning Premiers and if you want to know where the Shield is.....WE GOT IT :D ;) :p
