It certainly was a fair old catch... it was a good thing for lodge he was about 5 yards deeper than a normal gully otherwise he would have had no hope but threw up one hand, got well of the ground and closed his eyes!! Stuck clean as

Cant be as good as the runout that took out all 3 stumps at virginia or the broken stump by some "extremely fast" bowler

You talking about yourself again Groover!? ;)

Not the runout, that was some virginian bloke :P

from all reports the same player [cafferty] said he didnt care about the result he just wanted the batting trophy... thats a disgrace and should be dropped and not get the chance to even bat in the finals... and if he does play he had better prepare himself for a sledge or 2 i would think... by the sounds of it you could talk the bloke out very early...

if thats true thats hilarious i got told i had won the batting trophy back in the day when i went to watch the gf some people play for the wrong reasons

We lost to playford in a div 4 final, the following year lost to Gardens in the div 3 final (jamie left half way through that year thanks to one Christian McIver) and went back to Salisbury West.

That would be the div 5 grand final whufc and it was Elizabeth Fields back then mate. ;)

It wont for 2010/11, it would need to be a 2 year plan, it would be unfair for Virginia, Angle Vale, Us and whoever comes up with us to miss out next season on Grade 1.
It would be fair enough if all clubs knew going into the season what the deal was.

thats what i thought, any idea of the plan? surely they wont drop 4 teams from div 1 and bring 2 div 2 teams up.

Over a two year plan I would think that 3 would get dropped at the end of a season and only the premiers go up.
I honestly can't see it coming into fruition though.

If the six team idea is a no go, then surely a Div 1 and Div 1 res, Div 2 Div 2 Res and so on must be looked at

This season is just hitting finals and people are already deciding what they're doing next season. Anyone from a non-finals contending club (wouldnt want to upset any teams going into finals ;) ) know of anyone already planning a change of scenery for next season?

One of our B grade players has already informed us he is changing clubs for 2010/2011

i think a lot of players would leave if a 6 team comp was in place. it just wouldnt be as exciting and boring playing the same team 30 times a year

It got boring with 8 sides over the last 15-16 years... The 12 teams per grade in Adelaide Turf is awesome.
