Young Sammy was probably glad he didn't have to face a ball, he used to get so nervous before going out there, top lad, so is his brother.

What makes the North Pines decision even stranger is that with the lingering prospect of Covid interruptions a possibility and the general thought we are in for a late summer and hot March/April they could cost themselves a flag.

I know no one wants to win one that way but if you are top at the end of 14 rounds and win a flag due to something like that I think you have every right to still consider yourself genuine premiers.

I would be gunning for number one this year for sure.

It's unlikely NP could catch top spot .

A home semi is always handy.

NEK last game, they can have a crack at the outright then if they want it.

Dublin having the bye last round made it hard.
We will be going for outright in the last game though.

McEwan, Brenton (Enfield)
Disputing a decision - 3 games + 3 suspended
Sledging an umpire - not guilty
Intimidating an umpire - 4 games + 4 suspended.

Would be interesting to see if it was the same umpire a lot of teams are having trouble with

Brenno is not the smartest cookie getting around.. I certainly wouldn't trust him writing in pen yet.

None the less, what he did was inexcusable, immature and not warranted, welcomed, tolerated or condoned at our club... now not only has he cost himself a finals opportunity but he's directly impacted the side and club.

No place in cricket for that.

Yep, he's a god lad otherwise.

Obviously got fired first ball and lost it?

Needs to be a better/more equal way of dealing with suspensions.. just thinking about it - McEwan gets 7 games in “Grade 3 “ - so would be back Rd 6 next year - misses 13 weeks.

Bloke from Salisbury North punches an opposition player, puts him in hospital, and gets 16 games in “LO1” - effectively the same length penalty.

Guy gets 3 games in two day cricket = 6 weeks
Gut gets 3 games in one day cricket = 3 weeks

Doesn’t quite seem right.

Things are heating up in Grade 1 at the pointy end of the season.
Westies (88.50) Will have the minor premiership sewn up after Saturday as they'll score an outright win against the Gardens.
Dublin (81.59) A loss here could turn their season upside down as AV will jump above them, the Pines could win outright in the last round and Virginia will be within strking distance and will also be capable of an outright in round 14.
Vale (78.40) Probably the form team atm, I knew Andy Carman would become very dangerous with a few games under his belt, great bloke and tremendous competitor, they'll be pushing for an outright this weekend and then their round 14 clash at home against Westies will be a humdinger.
Pines (73.40) Will need to just dig in deep in the 2nd dig and stave off an outright.
Virginia (70.24) If anyone can chase down 234 on the road with a finals berth dangling as a carrot, Virginia can. Win this and then an outright win in the last could see them finish 2nd and a home final, beware of the sleeping giant.

Fair recovery for NEK B grade on the weekend - 5/1 and then finished 194 thanks to some older heads digging in.

Still sub 200 on their ground, you'd have to think Royals in the box seat.
