Today's play called off.
Why wouldn't they have a one dayer tmrw for games that abandoned today's play.
Games that get away today will end up having a result tmrw.

Nope. This is how they A Grade played in the rain affected round back in November. If one game begins under 2 day rules then all games will be played under those rules.

Silly.

No it's not. What is actually silly is rain overnight and during the morning making blokes drive 30 minutes plus to a ground with no covers to wait for 2 umpires to say no play

What advantages does it have not having to have to play for a result?

So is there a penalty for their stupidity or do they get away with it ?

Don't think so. Likely to do the same thing again tomorrow.

Back to the only game to get away - 56 Overs bowled Northerns 5/134, Adelaide need 5 more wickets and get the runs to bank the points. All other games must use a tactical declaration and bowl the opposition out before stumps. Otherwise play for a draw.

Does that mean under SACA rules, any game that gets under way tomorrow has to be played under 2 day rules?

If no games started today, all would have been one day games.

Makes results tough to get now tomorrow, although rain may prevent this anyway.

Uni and Kensy off already, why was this being played at Park 10 with no covers instead of Uni Oval?

The park 12 centre wicket is in the process of being replaced, all turf and soil was dug out last week.

It's because the team bowling second in a two dayer needs to take 10 wickets for a win, which is not the case in one day games.

It's a necessary evil of removing compulsory declarations.

Which is how First Class cricket is played. Mind you its bowl the opposition out twice but its the same principle

Should be some nice lush green outfields getting around by now :)

Washouts galore.

How long before we're dodging 40 degree days?

Hope this isn't a sign of things to come but SA in the under 19 championships are yet to get past 200. Currently 8/90 chasing 180 odd v Victoria. Day 2 today

They have no batters, basically only two. Is a real glut of batters in this age group, and in the 17's as well. Would have picked couple of promising Under 17 batters, but they all failed down in Hobart in the 17's Carnival, so could not pick them in the end.

Bowlers have done well, but can't win games when struggle to get past 100.

Dalton and Page are very good, but that's it, and when they fail makes it very tough. They both got going today in 2nd dig, so hopefully gives them confidence for last game on Wed/Thurs.

One of the openers completed a King Pair today  Same bowler - Off peg went missing on Sunday & Today trapped LBW

Talk today is it is called a "King Black Pair", but very unusual, first ball of both innings got two great balls.

Don't blame Jake Winter though, he missed two months of cricket after breaking his hip in his first A Grade game in Round 1, only started playing again late December. They really only picked him on potential as leading run scorer from 17's last year, but due to lack of any batters, had no choice. He looks very rusty and out of touch, made 9 off 79 balls last match, but will be better next year for sure.

Glenelg beat TTG in the T20 final. Apparently Cullen Bailey took a screamer in the outfield. Anyone see it?

Good that the game was on AO. Getting harder and harder to get games on there. Is the one day final there?

Final is 22nd of Feb. Wouldn't the Oval be under ICC control for the WC?

India v Pakistan is the 15th, Australia play India in a Warm up match on the 8th (WTF??) As obviously the current tri series isn't enough

Yeah he took it running and diving to his right. He also took a sharp c&b to dismiss Trav Head who was set and going well. Those two catches went a fair way to winning Glenelg the game.

Yeah a good game of T20 totals of 180 and 170 always good viewing.

The game also threw up an interesting thing that rarely happens in cricket and I would keen to see what people think. Matt Weaver played the ball to mid on and set off for a quick single, Dand who was bowling dived across the pitch to the leg side and knocked Tim Evans, the non striker over (un intentionally) but big contact was made. The ball was thrown to the keeper with Tim still on his back run out. Whats peoples thoughts on calling a player back in that instance? Im not saying there is a right or wrong answer just be interested in peoples thoughts.

Just a thought.
If Weaver hit it and Evans was ran out at the strikers end then maybe they shouldn't have attempted a run.
What was Weaver taking off for a run for if his mate was on the deck.
On ya bike son - should be more aware of the situation.

If it was to long on maybe but it was to a regulation mid on, quick single called as soon as he hit it. No real time to make a second decision.
