Congrats to bazza for getting awarded playing life membership

Not sure it was further away. I know at least one of the larger clubs had a split committee. WD Bazza on LM.

He would have been in favour, it was a idea he has been pushing for. Sorry for not replyin to your msg - only just got it.

IIRC last year it was within appox 8 votes of getting the 2/3rds it needs.

This year it was about 33 votes away from the numbers required.

The one thing it did do is motivate many clubs who normally have poor attendances at the AGM to get their full quota there.

There were about 40 more people than we had last year.

After 2 years of being denied you'd think the issue would be put to bed for a long time.

Common sense would knock this on the head now, but show me any law that says common sense is afforded to all individuals... or sporting groups.

Why it is called common sense is beyond me.

If you can take people on their word, Morphy's are looking to field a pretty decent side this year with a couple of useful ins, including one real good one. Steven Thomas is back and captaining the club and with no major outs looking OK.

As I said - thats if you can take people at their word! At least 3 of our players have received cash offers from other ATCA clubs - It never ceases how much money some very ordinary players in all sorts of sports can command!

So they have received money offers from Turf CLubs or clubs within our own comp?

Yes thanks Captain Obvious  :D . The fact that MR wrote 'other ATCA' clubs suggests to me that he meant clubs in our association which is why i was seeking clarification.

Sorry - WY is correct - I did mean ASCA clubs. I just find it amazing that some players who I wouldn't consider to be superstars are paid. They dont coach but receive cash nonetheless. Maybe its just jealousy - back in my day nobody got paid, but the clubs were always cash strapped and living from one chook raffle to the next.
