If you are including guys up to 21-22, then Worky is up there too. Only 22 I think. If he put a decent value on his wicket he'd have made a stack of runs and hasn't been too bad with the ball this yr either.

I thought the South Rd captain looked young, but that is ridiculous. Fancy trying to captin a side when you are 18?[/quote]

I guess that is the post that started all the talk on young captains and sth rd. So yes AF you did not have a go at Wilson personally but i think you were alluding to the dire state of affairs at sth rd for them to have an 18 year old captain. Maybe a few of us misinterpreted what you had said, that happens, so don't take it to heart big fella because we all love reading what you have written on here as well.

thanks bloods for finding it for me! that is the point AF where IMO you were having a go at their club and indirectly at him because he was 18. At the same point tho i may have mis interpreted what was meant by you as it often happens when things are in writing!
I think what sarge said was spot on, you cant keep winning premiershipsand a rebuilding stage is needed at some stage. After winning back to back flags and the appointment of Willson as skipper, South Road have gone into that rebuilding side, whilst they still have a couple of older heads to get behind him and help him out. A bit of rebuilding and stability with a youngster for captain over numerous years can lead to great success in years to come (it doesnt always work like that i understand that). but good on south road for doing just this!

I said it would be tough to captain a side at 18 and that he would have been appointed at such a young age due to the position the club has found itself in. You blokes only read what you want to.

Enjoy the cricket, cause this forum is crap. Roseboy will keep you informed about the Ramblers I'm sure.

Please dont leave AF, there will be no spice in this forum if ur gone! We all love "reading" your posts and we hold ur opinions in the upmost respect!!
Its not that we read what we want to,i think forums like this are very much open to interpretation and stuff said in writing can often be taken not in the way the author wanted it to be. So i reckon playon, we love u on here :D

pot hole wrote:he might gain experience as a captain but what about his cricket, he's made 84 runs from 8 hits batting at 6 or 7 with an average of 14, he would be better to prove himself in the grade 1st then captain the side...his bowling isnt too bad tho 10 wkts at 13
but still get ur cricket right first as there is plenty of time for him to capt his club after that

and how have some of the other captains gone in the comp??
North haven - 86 runs from 7 hits and 9 wickets at 18
ICC - 22 runs from 5 hits, doesnt bowl
Coro - 112 runs from 9 hits ave 12
Coro Ramblers - 69 runs from 6 hits batting 4/5, 13 wickets
Mitchel Park - 53 runs in 6 hits at 8.8, 2 wickets at 47

Gonna scrutinize these blokes too, or is it just easier to pick on the young bloke?

Take it easy champ, Im old, crap and cripple :D

Nah i am a specialist fieldsmen just ask Sth Rd :D :D . Can't bat, can't bowl but i field well apparently. Well at least my team mates got a laugh out of it because i am a shocking fielder, but they did agree with them on the batting and bowling fronts.

I was told that last summer they cut it short and it died off, then the footy club complained so it is now very 'fluffy' and pretty green.Nice oval, just big. For mine, too big for the lower grades.

He worked afternoon shift friday TL.

A great outright win by our lads yesterday puts us in a very good position to make the top 2. Chasing 93 off 24 we got off to a horrid start being 3/9 off 4 before Hopkins smashed all bowlers to every part of the oval for great 70 off about 40 balls with some massive sixes. I see the sharks got the outright as well, which was always a chance to happen, but Nth Haven nearly kept them out for us to sneak into top spot.

Rambler looked as they had to give up the chase for an outright after losing some early wickets????? Plympton lost by 4 runs but someone didn't turn up so you would think that last wicket may have won them the game and kept them a game clear in 4th position. That seems to have kept the door open for Sheidow, Glenelg and Keswick to take that 4th spot. Looks to be a good run home to the finals.
