Not a bad start.. where do people think that stacks up? Is it a good enough score for glooooory?

good start but def gettable on that oval. 60/40 in favour of the rita's

Big Call there Auto.

I'm a 70/30 in favour of Rose Park. Runs on the board

Para Vista do boast some very good batsmen so it is possiable.

247 Imagine if 1 G.RIDDLE batted well that would've been huge ;)

not a huge oval and the ball flies along the hard ground plus marshall and smith....i stand by my 60/40 your honour 8)[/quote]
Had a look at a couple of overs of this game on Saturday. I haven't played for a few years now so i might be out of touch a bit but back in my day runs on the board were a great advantage and i have won grand finals making 140 to 150. I think 250 is a good score and would love to have that on the board. Auto if 250 is easy to get how crap are Fitzroy for only making 130 the week before? If it is such a small oval, which i didn't think it was, your 130 only worth 70?
I also spoke to a couple of Fitzroy players at the game and i would be worried just getting 11 on the field next season mate as a few are not happy with whats going on down there.

We had to get a clearance from Port Districts for him.

250 is gettable. however PV have scored the least runs this season (don't quote me on that) and havent really been a shining light with the bat. So 250 is a mammoth total for them to chase down. They are going to need 4 decent contributions in order to chase this down. Many of the PV batsmen struggle with quick inswing bowling, so i think you will see Clarke bowl a fair amount of overs and take a bag.
Rose Park to win comfortably. Although id love to see PV get up in a close one :)
As far as i know there are 2 players including myself that are leaving. But we have a fair number of recruits coming in and the word is that a couple of them will slot into the A grade side. Dave Loechel is likely to return next season and hopefully another batsman. So its not doom and gloom for the Roys. We still made finals and made a game of it, so we were still competitive in a very poor season.

Clarke bowls outswingers not inswingers, Harry :p

No doubt we need to bat well to get there and will need contributions from a few guys, but its definitely gettable. Hopefully i can hit a few and shut the bloke up who was yelling out "advice" constantly to me all day

Probably the same peanut who was yelling out "custard" when you had the ball in your hand in the outfield. Obviously should stick to footy...

Only takes 1 bloke to bat for a long time and the others to bat around him & build a few partnerships. If Nealy can do that job after hardly making a run all year, I reckon we've got at least 3-4 blokes who can do that, and do it better. ;)

That smells of arrogance. Leave the arrogant stuff for Rose Lakes

Think the great man Goat Herder pointed out last week that someone from outside the box would step up for this game and take it by the scruff of the neck. Yes McDonald made runs and Marshall took wickets, but Steve Neal's performance was the standout Saturday

  Thanks Pie Man, needed a good larf today. ;)

Spot on, Nealy batted very well. Wickets in hand is the key.

I know I'll probably get shot down here, but at the end of the day 250 is probably an easier chase that 150 in a final. 250 you know you have to play well & play shots to get there, whereas 150 you know you should get there no probs & tend to go a bit cautiously instead of playing your own game.

Great display of heart & courage by Marshall too. Fantastic spell of bowling, particularly after jagging a hammy 1st ball after tea.
