Plympton would be clearly in front there. Some very interesting rounds of cricket coming up.

WYC destroyed Mitchell Pk in the 20/20 today. Think there are some big problems down in Mitchell Pk. Only recognised a few of their players, so I'm guessing they gave some blokes from the lower grades a shot. Makes a bit of a fass of the competition. Didn't see WYC bat, but apparently knocked up 170-odd. Big score in 20/20. Some very accurate throwing with direct hits contributed to Mitchell Pks downfall after a reasonable start. Never in it after that.

Should be a good game next weekend and in the final atleast.

AF our batting was very good, younger bro made a quick 20 and robbie made 30, both opening! benny mac made 63 and wycbloods made 20 not out, but more importantly ran 2 x 4's in the same over, YES THATS RIGHT HE RAN THOSE! just for the record, CK with a golden batting at 5 haha
WYC have definitely set the standard over the last 2 20/20 games with our fielding, we have had 4 direct hit run outs! Star of the day was bloods (helped by the captain bowling him in the 5th over with his leggies) getting four wickets in his first over (three run outs) and ending up with 5/25 off his 4 overs, and the three run outs came off his bowling!
AF good start by your mob on saturday, big chance for an outright, with many overs to bowl them out and chase the runs at the end of the day! could be the difference between 1st and 3rd at seasons end! hopefully u dont get an outright and hopefully ICC dont either against north haven!!
and for the record, sheidow outright no chance! but good luck jibba ;)

If south rd bat sensibly for say 50-55 overs which is about all i think they could bat on a good day against the ramblers then they may set you about 150 odd to make in about 20-25 overs which is a similar task to what we did against them earlier in the year. I hope you don't get the outright but i think you will.

AF you reckon Hopkins is an angry little person when he bowls but you should have seen J Murphy yesterday when the umpire changed his decision when CK hit a chest high no ball to square leg. He was very angry, understandable to a certain extent because he didn't get the wicket, but he went right off and then bowled a head high one the next ball that went for 4 through 1st and the keeper and he copped a warning for it. He took a while to compose himself after that.

i thought it was an interesting decleration by ramblers, if i were them i would have gone the hack for the rest of the day and the start of next week and built up a bit of a lead first, ideally u wouldnt wanna be chasing around 150 off 20-25 overs

it isn't ideal but you need to bowl them out again to win outright unless they declare and gift it to you so i think the ramblers did the right thing and gave themselves the best opportunity to get the wickets.

The point was discussed at length while we were batting. In my experience the best way to get an outright is to give the other side a sniff. If we had made another 50 they would have been out of it and more likely to bat well as they would be determined to not give up the loss. If we had held catches they would already be one down and no-one would question it. We did the sme thing against Coro. South Rd wil be a chance to bowl us out if they set a decent total, but that doen't cost us a thing.

Hopkins has little man syndrome, J Murphy is just a nut case from what I saw. We too had an outburst from him down at Westminster. I could imagine he'd be frustrated if the decision was reversed.

If you bat them out of the game, they have nothing to play for and we all know how hard it is to get guys out who have no intention of playing a shot. Plus we thought having 7 overs at them at the end of the day might have got a wicket. It should have, 2 drops (1 by yours truly) didn't help.

In reality, this coming Saturday is kind of like a 1-dayer. South Road have a 20 run lead, their bowling attack looks half decent. If I was their captain, I'd figure a first innings loss for 1point won't help getting near the finals, so I'd go for it. Go the tonk for 35 overs, hope to put 150 on the board, declare and try and get 10 wickets in 40-odd overs.

Not a bad effort. Heaps off huge scores are being made in Section 4 this season. Must be some ordinary bowlers going around in that section  ;) .

Apparently they started thier whingeing before a ball had even been bowled, they wanted every players rego number!! Our skip and VCs siad that we didnt need to produce them, and they were ademant that we did... Our skip told them to look it uip on the computer to which they replied 'we havent got one'

Then our skip said 'we're playing at a school there are hundreds of the fukn things!!' as a joke but that didn't go down too well...

We've always got old Johnny Williams umpiring coz he loves it, and he's played about 5 squillion games of cricket and he don't cheat, so he had things under reasonable control, they arked up a couple of times but they were ok.

One thing that probably helped keep them quiet was the fact that they destroyed us! our boys had one of those days!!

I did see that your guys are batting for the second time on day one and there were about 250 runs socred for the day that would be an interesting days cricket.

I played a game against your mob last year in section one when you sent us back in for absolutely no reason in my opinion, i openned and only hit the ball when it was in line with the stumps, i padded everything else away or left balls that were going over the stumps and when McCrea was hitting them i wasn't even going to run, i was leaning on my bat, he had to make all his runs in 4's!! So yeah you definately gotta time it right otherwise galahs like me will come in and bore everybody to death!

I see that Mitchell Pk have lost Somerfield back to district cricket. I also hear that the sharks welcomed back Verrall and Nick Bowen this game and with Ledgard to possibly come in next game if he is cleared by southerns that makes them an awesome side on paper.
