Woodward looked pretty good to us on Saturday. 300-odd runs @ 27.5 seems pretty reasonable for an opener - certainly comparable to some of the other guys who have been playing association cricket this year.

This would stop sides such as South Roads screwing over another team early on in the competition. For section 1, the only reason i suggested section 1, was because it then gives extra incentive for clubs to pick their best side, for clubs to strive for section 1. I would not consider prizemoney for the lower grades as it would become an issue of clubs stacking their lower grades even more. The section 1 money, would come out of fee's that have been received during the year, but set at say $1k, and if their are not enough money in fee's then the association chip in the rest. The association game piss up money is an easy solution to have extra $$ on the side for prizemoney.

The idea for T20 entry fee then going towards prize money is a decent one. Don't mind that.

I'm sure Bloods has more info on the state of the association cheque book, but I dare say they run pretty close to the wire year-to-year and would need to be budgetted for. If a club isn't putting forward their best side for section 1 - I can't see them bothering for a bit of cash. Just my opinion.

I didn't realise that the after-game piss-up tabs are picked up by the Association until Gowser mentioned it. That kinda seems wrong.

Let me clarify this.
We are all just having fun with Kymbo.
He doesn't even read the forum, so it is probably in vain anyway.
I wrote a while back that at Morphies we sledge each other more than the opposition, and this is no exception.
It is definately not a shot at Skinny in any way shape or form, it is VERY light hearted banter about Kym. If you knew him you would know what we are pertaining to.
Once again i say congrats & good luck to you H.a H.

As far as i know, association side looks like this for Sunday.

S.McRae (westminster), K.Woodward (M -Parks), R.Curyer (Keswick), R.Brokenshire (M-Parks), B.Cameron (Sheidow), S.Cheek (Coro), J.Calderbank (Ramblers), A.Hartlett (Sth Road), L.Singh (Keswick), L.Eckert (WYC), B.McCormack (WYC), J.Lourans (Coro).

Game is getting played at Adelaide High along with the 21's on turf.
Good representation from a lot of different clubs.

LOL why else do you think players play these games Roseboy?? ;)

NOTE: The 33 jagers that were ordered at North Haven were not paid by the association. They were paid by the third bank of the association in JWKDD that night. JC and myself talked him into it rather easy i thought!! JCs straight one did the trick

Honestly RB, i think if there was a prize for the section 1 premiers, or even GF's, then sides will try that bit harder to get their best eleven into the A grade side. Thats IMO. Having prizemoney for the premiers, makes me think if a Panaroma would have taken up a sect 1 spot some years ago, or if a Clapham, is happy playing and dominating down in the lower sections each year?

Definitely would need to be budgeted for, but i would think that the associations bankroll is not bad at the moment. Pretty healthy for what the world has just been through recently.

Is this something the Association should look into in the future? Prizemoney for Section 1 and the t20 cup??

Next year my thoughts on the t20 comp.

4 groups of 4.
8 seeds. 1st and 8th seed in same group. 2nd and 7th in the same group etc:
Seeds for next year would be. Keswick 1. WYC 2. Ramblers 3. Sheidow 4. (ramblers ahead of sheidow as they went out in same round of t20 and ramblers ahead in 2day comp, thus giving them higher ranking).
The remaining 8 teams are drawn out with 2 teams going into each group.

Each team plays 3 teams, against the other group members (before christmas, on scheduled sundays). Top 2 advance to next stage.

Quarter Fina stage: QF 1 - Top of Group 1 hosts 2nd of group 2. QF 2 -1st of group 2 hosts 2nd of group 1. Same goes for group 3 and 4. These matches scheduled for 2nd sunday after Xmas.

Semi Final Stage:Winner of QF 1 plays winner of QF 4. Winner of QF 2 plays winner of QF 3.
First sunday of the third game after xmas, scheduled match. A double header at a selected venue could be the go??

Final. Winners of Semi Finals. Scheduled day being either first or second week of round 10 as it is this year.

Obviously this is subject to the association games actually being organied before the season starts, and also spread before and after christmas, instead of all after christmas.

Thoughts??

Yep, stick to playing real cricket and leave T20 for hit and giggle comps in India.

Anywho, you bat in 75 over games like its a T20 CK, why are you so interested?

After last weekend that is true Booney. 2 day comp: batting second, CK 22 not out at drinks (13 overs). At stumps CK 22 not out (26 overs). T20 CK 11 off 24 balls or so..

Thats how you meant it Booney, yeah?? ;)

Hey you never know he's been a wicket taker this year when he gets a chance. 4 @ 14.75. Pretty sharp off 6 steps. :D :D

There is nothing "Pretty" or "Sharp" about Dirks bowling SG1.

I fear if Captain Fantastic bowls him this Saturday, we might lose some sponsors ;)
