Is T-Bahr still playing?? I played against him years ago, was going grey then, he'd have more greys than richie benaud by now surely, that was back in the day when he and marty clifton were legends in their own lunchbox!!
And I bet the Inwoods are just taking the year off to eat
Lol george12! he must be 50 by now?? Noarlunga's players must be leaving as they are no longer good enough to compete with the better teams!! hence the reason there are rumors surrounding a move to the GSCA... I feel sorry for the new captain if T-Bar is still playing as there is no way he would be able to make his own decisions as T-Bar will be there pisn in his ear all the time!!
Who do people think are going to be competing for the flag this year? Most runs? and most wickets?

Some of you guys are either kids or just tools T Bahr is the best cricketer that has played in this comp for many years he is a winner and knows how to he is still a quality bowler and am sure he will rattle some helmets again this year. As for the club looking elswhere I am sure they are covering bases as the SCA has a lot of probs and may look at some sort of amalgamation with the GSCA.

Just a thought cyclops but if you are playing 2 one dayers over two weeks then what is the difference to playing 1 two dayer over the same two weeks. 75 overs each week is shorter than 80 overs (40 overs each innings for a 1 dayer). Yes the one dayer could finish earlier once a result was achieved but some teams play out the overs in 1 day cricket to get as many points as possible. The tempreature is still the same.
Guys play in the higher grades of SCA because the training commitment is not as much as district cricket.
Is the Dutchman looking at making a comeback??

The Hound wrote:I actually agree that there should be a 1 day comp, it does keeps guys around, however it does not promote a club atmosphere because players finish early go home and not go back to the club. I was trying to raise ther fact that everyeone comes back with the length of a two day being a reason for not wanting to play them when in fact it is shorter than a 1 day game.
I can see where you are coming from in relation to standing in the field for 75 overs (it is a pain in the a%^& when you don't bowl sides out) but at least you get a chance to have a bowl and a bat, where as in the 1 day game you can only bowl 8 overs, don't get a bat if you have a gun side and the top order batsman are making all the runs. The 1 day stuff does not develop your juniors. I have seen the mighty powerful MVCC D grade in action in previous years.
