Well done to ATCA U21's in beating A&SCA at Payneham, yesterday. ASCA made 121 which included 31 wides. ATCA were 6/62, but Matt Hayden batted well for 43 to get them over the line 7 down.

Any other noteable mentions SMG? Was sundries top scorer in ASCA's innings?

That's Matty Hayden's top score this year as he usually doesn't get a hit with Paul Duffett in his side!

Is a quality bat though is Hayden. Was impressed with him a few years ago when they were in A1 when they played us when the rest of their side was a rabble.

There would be a few guys in the Southam/Duffett Rechabites that haven't had much of a hit this season. I wonder how that will effect their finals campaign?

yeah it was very a one sided game. they only had 9 players and were missing there opening bowlers i think. not that i am sure they would have enjoyed trying to defend 11! still you can only play against the opposition that is on the park!

and yeah hooker goes okay for a bloke who is nearly 50.... ;)

Yes sundries did very well for ASCA - 35 with 31 wides!! Jace O'Hara bowled pretty sharp and took 4/25 off 8 (included 10 wides). Opening bowler for ASCA (Krieg) also bowled very well - took 3 wickets and bowled with good pace. Overall I thought the batting was pretty ordinary except for Matt Hayden. Next highest score was 20. I suspect ATCA will be looking to strengthen their batting for next game. Maybe TW back from injury and Krieg in if he keeps making hundreds.

Maybe next year ATCA will play this game on hard-wicket? Seems A&SCA are always accommodating the requests of ATCA despite it being a massive (dis)advantage.

Fair bowling line up, but batting looks a bit thin with Wordsworth out injured

Only 2 from the Colleges!! If they stopped recruiting old district cricketers and started blooding some youth, I'm sure they would have more representation!!

By the way is this an ATCA U21 or a northern suburbs U21? ;)

we (paoc) had 3 lads go out 1 got in. and btw we have 1 ex district player who is now our coach and the b-grade average age is under 25 (5 under 21) so lets not go throwing around comments too broadly.

Because A&SCA only play on hard wicket, and im sure plenty wouldnt have had the experience of playing on turf, the change in bounce, lengths, ball movement.

Over the last 3 years they have alternated between hard wicket and turf for the games between ATCA and PDCA. All of the ATCA and ASCA games have been on turf - not sure why they haven't alternated. Not sure it's such a big deal....godd players can adapt. ATCA U21's smashed PDCA U21's on hard wicket last year

And obviously ATCA only ever play on turf. It should alternate each year if it is to be fair.
There once was a bloke named Fracka,
Scored runs since he was a young tacka,
But alas not anymore,
his shot selection's been poor,
and now they call him QUACKA!!
