Adelaide Suburban Cricket Association 2009-10

Local cricket is the go here. Any talk about local comps, grade cricket, etc.

Can we please settle down.

1. Bennett is a very talented cricketer
2. His talent is wasted in section 4
3. If, at 22, he wants to squander that talent by playing section 4 ASCA, then that is his ( & Sheidows) choice.
4. If he wins a Premiership in Sect 4, will he be satisfied & then go back to playing where he belongs.
5. I applaud The sarge & jb (yes that's right, moeman giving jb support) for sticking up for him.
6. I applaud CK for sticking to his guns when saying that 1 score in "B" grade district cricket is no measuring stick. It isn't!

Let's be honest. We all enjoying looking at blokes like this make runs or take wickets or just dominate in general until , maybe, it affects our side/club.
The boy is good, leave it at that. Only he can determine how he will look back on this season in years to come.
IMO, if I made 1000 runs & missed the finals, well that would not mean much to me. If I was playing section 1 this year for Sheidow, & we missed the finals with this young champion playing sect. 4, well, I would not be lining up to buy him a beer come trophy night.

Has he made the state side Moe?

Yes Bloods, as of last Saturday he had.
The kids are being put up in the same hotel as the Aussie cricketers, with everthing paid for except 2 meals, which knowing Jimmy it will be KFC.
They are also being kept a day later to go and see the T20 at the SCG against the Windies.

Is that in the SAMCA side Moe?

Errrrrrrrrrrrr. You've got me there Sarge. Will find out tho.

This is a SAMCA side not a state side.

Sorry, it is not a State side. I stand corrected. BUT it is a representative side from our state. Still a great effort to make it, and still eligible next year as well.
Thought it might be nice to put up some encouraging posts for once!

i would actually go as far to say he is the most talented player in asca right now... i dont care that hes only playing sec4, having played cricket with him at Sacred Heart and against him when he was at West Torrens ive been lucky enough to see some of the better knocks, spells and catches i have seen in my time. and the reason why most of you wouldnt have heard of him before is because he only moved to Adelaide when he was 17 from Broken Hill

most talented player in the asca?? ive played against bennett when he was at shc and i didnt think he was gods gift. he did tho espescially after he got out to a part timer. i think there are much more talented players in the asca, i wont name names because some of their heads are big enuf! hahaha

Any changes for Morphy Pk's or Ramblers this week?

I think the winner will make the finals so it will be very interesting to see their results saturday night.

Big game for us also playing Coromandel who have obviously made huge improvement from last year and seem to be playing consistently good cricket. We need to win so that if we beat keswick in rd 11 we can finish top.

Yes bloods me ol' mate there will be at least 1 forced change in Morphy's team due to the unavailability of a bowler. Plenty of replacements tho with our B's in the 4 & C's undefeated.
Maybe time for the Man, Shane Pitt, to get reaquainted with section 1 ^:)^

Would be a good time for him to come back to section 1 cricket.

I would think that there may be a few sides from 6-9 winning the toss and bowling first looking for that elusive outright victory which may get them into 4th spot with a round to go.

Let's put it this way, if MPCC do not have 55 people at training tonight with what is at stake, then nothing will motivate them.
It's a "Pitty" :D ( christ I'm funny ) Shane is injured McCoy me ol' cob, now we might have to put that old hack Danny Miller back in the A's.

IMO Bloods, I think the crazy declarations & outrights might happen next round. Round 10, win toss, bat all day & put the score on the board.

I would think sides like Sheidow, Sharks and even Coromandel will be looking at winning the toss and bowling first. Winning the last two games may not be enough for them to make it so every chance would need to be taken to get the outright they may need to make the finals.

You guys win both of your remaining games then you will probably make it. I don't think you guys will need to worry about Plympton as they are half a game behind 5-8. So they will need to win both and have an outright in there somewhere to be any chance of making it.

J ferris comes back into the side for ramblers with davenport out with a dodgy shoulder. on paper it is ramblers best side and sadly, is the first time we have been able to put it on the field all year, so well see how we go. were lookin forward to the crowd down there at morphy park, should be very amusing

was trying to be diplomatic, hahaha, but yes i have heard a rumor of that as well, ramblers need to make some runs desperately. i firmly beleive that if ramblers can scrape together minimum 170. well win. we have the attack to defend it.

This forum has no place for diplomacy caleb ;) .

I think with Morphy Pk's batting you will need 225 on the board.

Ease up! 225 would normally beat us outright
6 runs was contributed by 4 of our top 7 batsmen last week.

As for our crowd, I can promise you that as it being my last week at the Club before I start a new career, I promise to keep them in check 8-} :partyman: %-(

Last year our C-grade were lucky enough to witness a Morphy Park supporter in all her splender.

We at the Ramblers have a healthy respect for the supporters down there. I know the boys are really looking forward to the challenge. Clearly a silent ground over the past few games hasn't helped us, hopefully a bit of a crowd might turn things around!
