Wow Plympton is out in force now there up and about saw 1 of the boys today caring on and from what I remember every Plympton side that I have ever played there is at "LEAST' 1 bloke wearing footy shorts and they bag blokes for armguards. I better be careful or the Plympton boys might come bagging me next for being soft.

About time this forum got a bit firey!
Its been a knee's-up love-in for too long!!!

For the record my shirt gets tucked, got me some shirt extensions...
Not that its a huge deal, having your shirt tucked, un-tucked, thigh pad in, out, footy shorts, pants, arm guards on front, back arm bla bla bla... None of this makes you hit the ball any further i would have thought.

I know the old saying of "you need to look like a team... bla bla" but you could get a bunch of homeless hacks from whitmore square and whack them in whites (shirts tucked) looking good and they will still play like a bunch of scrubbers, unless maybe i throw a few down to them. So it shouldnt make much of a difference if we prefer to play un-tucked.

Surely there are greater issues facing the world at the moment like the financial crisis, saving the rain forests, and the hole in the ozone layer, far more important than tucked shirts.

Pink shorts were a bit of a worry tho

It maybe a little bit of a love fest in here but posts like 'harden up' to a bloke coming back from a broken arm is gutless IMHO. Maybe plugga should keep those thoughts to himself in the future. Now back to the love fest, stuff the financial crisis and the rainforest :D

See its attitudes like yours about the rainforests that have put the planet where it is today.

Plugga is a unique individual, there is no doubt about it, but he's harmless. Thinking isn't his thing.
Prawn once again i'm standing up for you, its starting to get repetetive...
Where were u when i was getting paid out about bowling in the dirt.

I can't have a go at an individual coverning up a broken arm, when i had my knee reco's i had matresses strapped to my legs to make sure i wouldnt get hurt!

but i am a bit of a girl so, i dunno.

Jabber this is not the place to bring up ur attitudes and issues with the financial crisis, saving the rain forests, and the hole in the ozone layer, we are on SAFOOTY champ, in the cricket section where we talk about things related to cricket. So in this case, tucked in shirts are far more important, it is common knowledge that when u play the game we all love in cricket, u tuck ur shirts in (but il except when u wear shorts u wouldn do it), it is untidy, looks disgraceful and reflects i think on the attitude of the whole side. There wouldn be any other club that has 8 or 9 blokes outta 11 with there shirts un tucked.
and u wearing ur knee brace that must be soft according to ur fellow mate wouldn it? because if u done that again, it would be nearly the end of u wouldn it? so dont wear that cause u wont look cool, and look like a fool, the sarge looks better with the armguard on his wrong arm then the untuckedplympton side. FACT!!

I just was not aware that the shirt tuck was such a pressing issue in modern day cricket, i mean, where do you draw the line on actions reflecting attitude? Why aren't all teams completing the full set of 75 overs each week, does that not reflect on attitude toward the game?? who sets the perameters for what actions reflect attitudes?

Ps i'm just playing the devils advocate on this coz frankly i don't really care that much about it, but i got bugger all to do at work, and for the record playing the full 75 overs each week even if you already won/lost would and does suck!!

AF or Roseboy

Why did you guys bat in a second innings for 15 overs for. It doesn't look like it would've done your quotient any favours?

Good to hear, and definitely not 75 overs because half the time, it doesn help any one at all, eg: coro ramblers losing 3/39 or whatever it is. does not help there quotient at all...
dont u think it looks bad with the shirt untucked?? and especially when an umpire does it ;)

Look to be honest, i'm one fo those people that doesn't really give a rats about it.
It doesn't give you any extra points, doesn't give you any extra runs, doesn't give you bugger all.

Sport to me doesn't have much to do with how fashionable you look, unless you have a sponsorship with nike or adidas or something which i'm pretty sure doesn't happen all that often in ASCA.

I like to worry about the things that WILL actually make a difference, say for example, getting a few balls to land on the fukn pitch! That takes up a fair bit of my time...

Mate at 9/55 chasing 150 the quicks didn't give a rats ar$e about where the ball landed. The whole team was in fits of laughter watching him bowl.

There needs to be a lot of TTFU on here ladies. Too many princesses playing in our comp. by the looks.

For starters, don't break your bloody arm. Sign of weakness.

Second, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that an untucked shirt is a lot cooler than a tucked in one, therefore appropiate on a hot day. Also, if you sweat like a pig as I do, you cannot use your shirt to shine the ball if your shirt is tucked in cause it's wet. You will however see me with a tucked in shirt when bowling as it gets in the way. Wear your thigh pad inside your strides or our keeper will give you shit all day and you're less likely to get caught behind off it. I'm all for wearing club caps and shirts but I don't care whether you wear shorts or long johns. I choose long johns to keep the sun off and a shirt tucked into shorts is only acceptable if its a fleecy shirt tucked into stubbies during middle of winter.

Our skip is pushing for us to all to buy new club gear after Xmas but I will not trade-in my 'lucky' cap from first game in 93/94 season. The sweat stains and mould are a sign of many years of toiling for the club. Priceless.
