True it shouldn't matter what section it is.

If your skip doesn't know the name of the guy who's playing in his team then surely there is an issue there! Perhaps next game you all wear name tags? or take the role like in grade three??

Rules are rules, and the reason why they need to be adhered to, is because if they are not, then some kaniving little sh*t of a captain is going to take advantage of it...

Unfortunately rules are rules.

We forgot to name a swap on the team sheet... so when the guy showed up in week 2, he couldnt bat. Was an honest mistake, but what can you do?

Kinda like thinking it's an 110km zone when its a 100km zone. Genuine mistake, but you are still gonna get done!

I'm still yet to hear whats going to happen to Woodcroft, this saturday is gonna be fun! Wish I didnt throw my wicket away now... dammit.

After leaving the field prior to the end of play surely play can't contiune this week and they should be made forfeit the game. Which may be a disservice to you guys as you may have got them outright but who really knows what would've happened.

Yeh I know... from what I've heard is that they've been told they have to show up this week. Not 100% sure though.

I don't agree with that they abondoned the game and should be made to forfeit IMO.

i understand rules are rules but where is the spirit of the game? the poor bloke has played every game this year, hes a sharp bowler and a good bat... obviously the icc captain just does not want him to play because that would mean they r more of a chance of winning! piss poor imo. its no wonder there is so much controversy and arguments down the grades because most of the captains think they r ricky ponting. sam foster is batting for us down there i hope he makes 150 and bats all day

The spirit of the game is you play by the rules. They're pretty simple rules at that.

so u wouldn't let it slide? u would make the bloke field all day and the next week only have to take 9 wickets to win? once again... didn't know some of u blokes play for sheep stations

It's a slippery slope - that's the problem. You let that slide, that's cool, but what else do you not worry so much about? Would you call a bloke back if they get run out backing up too far at the non-striker's end?

Something to think about anyway. It's not about sheep stations either, that throw-away line always bugs the crap out of me. You're there to play cricket, sticking to the rules makes things less confrontational.

I did think it was a poor effort especially on the first week of a game but when I think about and if the shoe was on the other foot and you got a bloke sitting 4th in section runs and balling quick and your playing a side for a spot in the four really its a decision most would make Section 4 or not. No one plays to lose and trust me im finding out playing lower grades there are Sheep stations on the line for some blokes.

I guess its a lesson learnt by JC hopefully! And yes even know its a lower grade this could be a real turning point for Fossy if he gets runs, he needs to know that he is a quality batsmen.

Its not rocket science to get 11 names correct on a team slip, this is nobody elses fault, certainly not the opposition.

In any grade of football, from Div 1 to Div 7 reserves, if you put 21 blokes on a footy field and it is found that one of them is not named on the team sheet then there are repocussions (i don't think i spelt that right).

I just can't believe that the skip doesn't know what side he picked!

shocking comparisons guys... roseboy if your out your out that has nothing to do with somethin as technical as a team sheet... jabba footy and cricket r completely different... especially community cricket, there is alot more money and pressure surrounding football clubs and each one is trying to get the competitive edge on the next... i would definatly question the team sheet in football but not community cricket...
