Was a good effort today, where the bowlers got us off to a great start, followed by b jenners innings, he went in at 1 for none and took them apart from the start..

And merki! Boy did jim bowl with some wheels today, a young bloke came in without a helmot at 4 and jim deadset nearly took his head off, I reckon there was 2 inches in it.. Anyone that doesnt bat with a helmot when he has the new ball is just ******* mad....

Should wearing a helmot in grade 1 be compulsory?

No leave it up to the individual. I remember one of our guys a few years ago went out to face Rocco at Salisbury West and their players were saying to ring the ambulance, he went on to pull and hook Rocco for a few boundaries and then Rocco had a sore knee and couldnt bowl anymore. Leave it up to each batsman.

we have about 3 blokes that dont wear helmets in our side. i dont reckon i could bat without a helmet now. I only started wearing 1 because mcarthy knocked my hat off as i was playing a pull shot back when he was at rosies the first time. i learnt my lesson.

I shake my head at people batting in the top grades without a helmet because their are still a lot of tail enders who cant defend themselves. its completely stupid. They deserve to have their heads taken off. A couple of years ago at Brahma one of the Sandy Creek batsmen got a perferated ear drum after being hit by a bouncer from Troy Bills. Got off very lightly in my opinion, and he can bat.

The thing is it doesnt have to be quick either, top edges can do the same damage... I personaly think helmots are a must
