What an odd thing to discuss :?

What do you do Bloods, go around asking, "Hey Mr Umpire, don't you agree that the Ramblers are the worst sledging club? Say yes and I'll give you your match payments."?

So what's the supposed percentage? How many have you asked?

from my experience WYC are are well up there (even if i deserve it sometimes).. But i enjoy that and it doesnt bother me... what happens on the field stays on the field.... the worst ive experienced was Keswick 'A' grade... they just got personal.. that was a few years back now...in general i think sledging is ok sometimes as long as it doesn't get personal....[/quote]

It is bloody obvious that Morphies are the biggest sledgers, if you count giving your own team mates crap!

Players behaviour is discussed regularly by the exec committee and the umpires.

I certainly don't go asking umpires do you think the ramblers are the worst sledging club at all. I don't ask them their thoughts on any other clubs. They( 7 of them that i can recall) said that they thought the Ramblers were the worst with ICC and WYC not far behind.

To add some context to the worst comment, they have basically all said that no club is that bad but that a few push the boundaries more than the others, us included.

Yes he deserves everything he cops for that does Giersch.

Not to mention we nearly all learnt this from Booney who was partial to a bit of friendly banter on a regular basis. :D

I don't know i think we do that pretty well. We did cop a bit from the morphy pk crowd though, although most of it was in good taste.

your quoting skills are very poor WUB....................anyway the most concerning part of the thigh pad issue was that a young guy in your side seems to have followed his lead and did it too. I was hoping with Giersch getting older we only had a few more years of seeing it but his legacy may live on at PFC :( :D .

Ah yes, our home game followers. Love em.

Still love the round 6 game where a Panorama bowler bowled 29 overs from one end. Some young scallywag yelled out just before his 25th "Bowlers name?"
Even they found that funny.

At least our home crowd will never be as bad as Hectorville, many seasons ago. I am sure some of you remember travelling out there!

Surprised to read that. How far back you goin? I know Keswick used to engage in quite a bit of 'gamesmanship' back in the day, but i don't recall it getting down to a personal level. I remember that prison warden guy being a complete knobhead and threatening me with violence during a couple of games, but all in all i would have considered the games i have been a part of against Plympton as tough n fair without going overboard.

Sledging is a non issue in my opinion. Was pretty bad in the 90s, but now it is nothing to worry about.

 Perfectly summed up there Bay Boy. Have you played them yet? they have a young fella (simmering it might be?) that has followed his lead.. Cant believe it happens in any level of senior cricket! Juniors understandable but seniors seriously..

Altho when we did play Plympton in rd 5, Tony Fromene did ask Hoppy if he wanted Giersch to put the thigh pad on the inside. Hoppy just laughed and said, seriously he does it all the time, theres no good telling him to do put it away!

If Giersch is too need a runner, all visible protective gear worn by the injured batsman must be worn by the runner. As the runner, you wouldnt be happy having to wear the thigh pad on the outside!!

ICC in my view, have been the worse that we have played against, in particular their sledging when we were batting in the second innings of last years GF. It was rather funny watching them embarrass themselves.

I played a fair bit under you Booney, or atleast sub fielded after first eleven committments, so i did have the best to learn from!! ;)

Bloods with the umpires talking about the worse, im sure i have heard some of them say, they dont include ICC because of their friend Mick Miller and the idiots involved with that club. So technically, the ramblers are far from the worse ;)
