Honestly not having a go at anyone because I appreciate it would be hard, but I really do think we should have at least one person per match with first aid training.

Hey I agree but unfortunately the parents who whinge the most are the ones who do eff all for the clubs. Many parents still think of cricket as a baby sitting service, ive watched my nephew in the past and on occassions there wouldnt be 10 parents between the two sides. Would love more parents to be pro-active and take an interest in their kids sport.
Definately should be someone at each game with a first aid certificate but not sure what the answer is.

Yeah requirement in all football codes, but football is regarded as a high contact sport where cricket isn't

Great response, Whuffer.

A bit rich for parents to expect a cricket club official to have done first aid if they haven't done one themselves (they spend most time with the kids).

R.I.P Phillip Hughes, as an Association, how do we respect this great cricketer? Maybe flags halfmast / blackarm bands

AUSTRALIA PAYS TRIBUTE TO PHILLIP HUGHES

Cricket Australia would like to thank the cricket community and the Australian public for the overwhelming amount of love and support given to Phillip and the Hughes family through touching tributes.

CA recommends club (Grade/Premier and Community) and school cricket continues as scheduled this weekend though the decision to play is at the discretion of clubs, and has written to all clubs and schools encouraging them to honour Phillip and celebrate his contribution to the game.

Some of the tributes that cricket clubs/associations and school cricket teams may consider include:
- extending Junior retirement rules to enable kids to retire on 63* rather than 50*
- reducing two day games to 63 overs each rather than the usual number of overs each side would receive
- getting creative with writing his player number 408 on the outfield
- wearing a black arm band
- having 63 seconds of silence after the toss
- bringing both teams together after the match to spend a bit of extra time together
- wearing the number 408 on your sleeve or chest

The cricket family is invited to celebrate Phillip’s life and share your memories - http://cricketa.us/11WiLtO

Phil Hughes's memory was honoured in the right way at Angaston Oval today with both teams playing in the right spirits.
G/C started really well and were 0/52 but ended up being bowled out for 107 and Ango are 2/60 in reply with the big show 30*

To top the day off the ICC WORLD CUP turned up and players from both teams got the chance for photos with it, was really awesome and something most of us cricket lovers won't forget.

Shit. After winning the premiership last week against Freeling I'd hate to see them get stronger.

So how'd south go with their stacked team? Trav Head surely made a big 100 on a hard wicket.

By the looks of it the guile and smarts of the lean and mean Boof was too much for the grade cricket boys. They probably no where near as good as they think they are.

It's no wonder the Redbacks haven't won any silverware in years. Bring in Boof! Sack Chuck FFS ;-)
