10/25 thats an amazing effort. Anyone know if thats the association record??

Association record is 10/18 by L.Maskell from South Rd, he also holds the record for best figures in a match 19/46 in the same game in 1953/54.

Full of useful information lately Bazza......................whats been the big change ;)

Amazing story and effort by Glenn. Really hope this doesnt come back for him so he can spend quality time with his kid on the way. Good luck to him and the family, and also no more deserving winner of the local cricket hero. I think the prize was a box at the Australia Day cricket game. Hope he enjoyed it!

Thanks for the kind words CK, Booney, Bloods etc and also the private messages some of u guys have sent. Here is the announcement on Cricket Australia's website that includes the nomination, http://www.cricket.com.au/default.aspx? ... y&id=19877
For the record, Glenn and I will be going to the one day match on Feb 9th and will probably be on the radio at some stage.

19 wickets in a match
I just want a bowl in section 1 let alone a 19 wickets in a match!!

Amazing effort there!

Gowser hope you both enjoy it and hopefully the Aussies can get up chasing down a big total so its full of entertainment for Glenn that night!

Also, for those that dont know (dont think there is any ANA boys on here), Glenelg ANA are holding an auction night to raise money for Galli's little fella! I believe its at PHOS on the 13th of Feb. Lots of memorabilla up for sale with all proceeds going to the Gallis. Hopefully they can raise bucket loads of $$$.

Ramblers v WYC at WYC this Sunday morning at 10:30 in the 20/20 semi final. Winner plays Keswick in the GF!

We had a beer with the glenelg boys after our game before xmas and again this weekend with the Nth Haven guys. It would be good if we could do it every week.

I think the facilities have something to do with it, but maybe if you cut out the sledging a few other teams might be keen.....

Facilities at any club. We can't have beers with the opposition at home games because our only facilities are at our C & D grade ground. We could have beers in an esky but doesn't have the same appeal as a bar.

I meant to write the lack of facilites at all clubs! That does make it, with clubs such as us, ramblers, sheidow, keswick (i think), ANA with no bars. Does make it hard for things like that too happen!

WYC are having an upgrade with a bar on top of our rooms being built in a couple of years (well if someone wins lotto we will) Thats the only place we could ever have a bar and i doubt that will happen in the near future..

I agree the facilities are a big part of being able to have a drink after the game with the opposition. You keep on bringing up about our sledging but the umpires i talk to say the Ramblers are the worst.

from my experience WYC are are well up there (even if i deserve it sometimes).. But i enjoy that and it doesnt bother me... what happens on the field stays on the field.... the worst ive experienced was Keswick 'A' grade... they just got personal.. that was a few years back now...in general i think sledging is ok sometimes as long as it doesn't get personal....

Not my words Caleb just those of a large % of the umpires.

I personally haven't found you guys to say much on the field. Just AF saying plenty on here ;) :D .

the worst game ive played in is still coro v ramblers. that game is very spiteful. but prolly only due to the rival nature of the two clubs. i am honestly very suprised that some umpires would say that. cause i think were one of the best in regards to sledging, guess it depends what is regarded as sledging.

i think it gets out of hand when u are directly talking to a batsman and having a go at him, i dont think thats very good and yes i know I have been guilty of that in the past. when your saying something about the batsman in a general way and importantly not using swear words i think thats fine, thats just banter.

I agree with all that Caleb. As long as things don't get personal then i don't have a problem with what is said to me. They can tell me i can't bat or bowl and they will get a very quick agreement from me :( :D .

I think what was said then was a question as to whether you should walk when your team mate was umpiring and gives you not out when you clearly hit the ball to the keeper.

Not a sledge at all just asking a question i think WUB   .
