JB you are in no position to question my intelligence mate. The point is why have they lost these players? Hartlett ok, but all the others? Piss weak IMO.

Re. the final 4, there is ICC towering above all, then WYC and Sheidow, then the rest. We may have had a couple of dismal batting performances but I still rate ourselves, Keswick and Plympton as the best of the rest. We have beaten both Keswick and Plympton so we can't be ruled out. If we get Somerfield out cheaply we may just roll Mitchell Pk for not much, which would leave us a game clear in 2nd. Glenelg rely on too few in the runs, we just didn't expose it. The top 3 have best batting line up, and batsmen win premierships.

I think your biggest test and what you need to do to make the final four is to win one, possibly two against WYC, Sheidow and ICC that will IMO determine whether you guys make the finals.

also south road dont have juniors coming through to replace the older players retiring... 9 of our 11 players on the weekend came from our juniors... clubs like south road wont survive without a junior system

Yep most clubs will struggle in the years to come without juniors. Clubs like Sheidow who have about 6 junior sides, correct me if i am wrong JB will be not only around but very strong for many years to come as long as they have successful junior programs in place.

We currently have 3 x U/13's 1 x U/15 and 1 x U/17 which will ensure we have plenty of young fellas coming through to replace our older brigade.

Not easy to set up a junior system either. Our best form of recruitment was having lads in high school bring mates out. Right now we have only a few in high school which is not bringing new faces to the club. A junior team would be great, but try finding someone to run it when we have enough trouble getting blokes just to commit to play. u17 not required IMO, but u13 and u15 should be a goal for all clubs now.

Agreed U/17's are not an essential part of a junior system but it does provide a spot for some kids that are not ready for the transition to seniors at the age of 15. It is a luxury that we can afford to have because we have people at our club that want it to still be there in 50 years time. Becuase without people that are willing to give their time to help a junior system out the club won't survive on guys bringing a mate or two out.

We will hopefully get the win this week and hopefully seeing Sheidow and Ramblers lose we will jump to 2nd. Or atleast us and Sheidow win and Ramblers lose and see them drop to 4th. Glenelg are the real outsiders from here, they have rolled South Road for 51 and are 9/102. If they can get an outright against them, they are right back in hte mix for the 4th spot that will be left vacant by the ramblers losing to glenelg ANA,mitchell park,Sheidow Park and ICC out of 5 games with there only win those 5 games against south road.. I will say that ramblers will drop out,but are still in the hunt if they win this game against mitchell park, with either keswick, plympton or glenelg ANA to fill up the 4.  ;) ;)

keswick are amazing and will steam roll WYC for 43 next week! Pressy was definately out with an amzing delivery that did it all. swung in, swung out, swung in again, then it cut away of the deck, caught a very thick edge and into the gloves. Be afraid WYC, be very afraid!

Yeah you are right Hunter it was a huge piece of his pad that he got with his bat  . That was an ordinary decision by the ump. I think we will get home by 5 wickets and get into the beers early for our xmas show.

5 down bloods? so not much faith we need 105 to win! So will the wickets be D.Whenan, R.King, R.Hopkins and B.McCormack to fall on day 2 ;) haha if its 5 down hopefully there the wickets too fall!! but in all honesty, WYC are looking/hoping, not expecting, too get the runs 1,2,3 wickets down. We are obviously extremely clsoe with Sheidow on quotient, so a 9,8,7 wicket win would be ideal at this stage of the year against another final contender...and bloods, u left me a run short

IMO,very lucky to still be there AF.

South Road did earn there spot back in sec 1 2 years ago and showed that last year, batting does win flags, and they became first side ever in our comp to win Div 2 and then a Div 1 flag back to back...
as much as i dislike south road, bit harsh saying they are lucky to be in there

JB you are in no position to question my intelligence mate. The point is why have they lost these players? Hartlett ok, but all the others? Piss weak IMO.

What a statement AF, the other players are piss weak cause there not playing this boring old game, wasting 5hrs on a sat and training during the week...maybe they have better things to do, like a young family or working etc. AF you dont no why these players are retired so why are u shooting your mouth off !! Intelligence, I think JB's got that over u champ.....
