I hear not all in the club are happy that this legend has walked straight into the A Grade
All I can say is the pressure is on and he must deliver the goods or else the knives will be out for Sibbick 8)

What standard of cricket is Grade 1 at, at the moment?

Would it be better than D grade district?

I have seen this new recruit in action, defenately gets alot of bounce and nip with the ball, Has some ability with the bat as well, heard he will be batting at no.4 this weekend.

And no they haven't cloned Mr Sibbick

Maybe Lovetotalkfooty can shed some light on who this new gun is!

Yeah, Steve played, didn't do a lot with the bat, played a rash shot and got caught at cover. Al, Andy and Tim got runs, they got away in the last 8 overs.
We got off to a bad start, 5/45, we batted two kids at 3 and 4 which was a bad move, Ryan Gates batted at 6 and made 88 and Aaron Bateson scored 41 not out at 11. Al bowled superbly, mixed it up, Linden bowled well too, Steve bowled some leggies and then some mdium, his shoulder held up allright. Unfortunately Ray did his knee again, wasn't good.

Is Aaron Bateson the bloke who use to play at EPFC is about 25-27 years old, bowler just above medium pace, moves the ball abit and is fairly handy lower order with the bat, if so this bloke had huge potential and played very consistent div2-4 cricket for a few years, but was another victim at EPFC around the time of not getting a chance due to not being a name player, or going through the correct junior channels.

Yeah that was Lyndon's first game back from a broken jaw very handy bowler when in the right mind frame.

Yes, Aaron Bateson has lost heaps of weight and would be in the 5 fastest bowlers going around in div. 2 on his day atm. He bats way too low, but given our line-up thats where he is. He has opened in our A's before.

Well you got a very handy cricketer there, the bloke generally bowls an incredibly good line and length, with slight variations of movement and bounce. Funnily enough could only just make the EPFC b Grade back in the day despite good form, was in a very similar boat to Lyndon and that was why he left the club as well. Geez there is a very long list of blokes who couldn't make the EPFC a grade but are now doing really good things at the same or higher level for other clubs now.

Clubs of all description, from day dot, have always tried to fill their first team with the best available players. Our goal is to make finals every year and hopefully, the final result is a premiership. For the first time in a long time, we are able to move players through the grades to booster the teams and at times find the player some form. When the player takes this on the chin, pulls up his strides and turns up and performs, for another team, it gives us a great sense of pride. The club WILL always be bigger than the individual.
