Yep, nice bunch of lokes we are at the Ramblers, just trying to even things up.

Wouldn't mind calling the day off right now. This is not cricket weather.

NH 0/0
Coro 0/0

Meanwhile in Section 5

Woodcroft had a dummy spit and walked off after calling an association umpire every name under the sun. Really poor form by the Woodcroft boys. Wouldn't shut their mouths after 3 lots of penalty runs (3x5=15).

Keswick 164 and WYC 1/60 after 12 overs..Pressy received a dodgy caught behind in the second to last over from our so called club umpire in Andrew Wright. Keswick did make around 50 more then they should have, we bowled well early on, and let it slip a bit. Bay Boy and Rusty are their only two good bats from what we saw. We will hopefully get the win this week and hopefully seeing Sheidow and Ramblers lose we will jump to 2nd. Or atleast us and Sheidow win and Ramblers lose and see them drop to 4th. Glenelg are the real outsiders from here, they have rolled South Road for 51 and are 9/102. If they can get an outright against them, they are right back in hte mix for the 4th spot that will be left vacant by the ramblers losing to glenelg ANA,mitchell park,Sheidow Park and ICC out of 5 games with there only win those 5 games against south road.. I will say that ramblers will drop out,but are still in the hunt if they win this game against mitchell park, with either keswick, plympton or glenelg ANA to fill up the 4.  ;) ;)

Section 5 side woodcroft gets an umpire before section 1, thats a disgrace.. surely if there that bad they should not be in the comp like blackwood last year got kicked out i think??

Oh and AF we look forward to seeing you come in and bowl your spinners and bat at 9  and too see hopkins skittle through ur batting line up!

i agree thats its pretty dodgy with no umpire for an A grade game, but we get one in section 5.

However the Ump lives out Modbury way, and he's done lower grade games all year.

Woodcroft performance today was shocking though... if there wasn't an official present I really believe things would have degraded into something more than verbal abuse. After the 3 lots of penalty runs, 1 player was sent off the field of play, then the rest of the woodcroft boys followed. Still 5 or 6 overs to go in the day.

After I hit a 6 into a house over the road, one of them abused the homeowner who came out to complain.
Drinking alcohol before and during a game which is held on a primary school oval (dry zone).
Calling the umpire a cheat to his face. Yelling at the umpire.

Was the worst display from a team I've seen.

Like I said, lucky we had an official to see it all. They should not be in the association.

I think you'll find that AF bats at number 10... Please get your facts right! ;)

He did bat well today though, saved the day from being a total shambles. Only a part shambles now.

Westsider wrote:Drinking alcohol before and during a game which is held on a primary school oval (dry zone).

My understanding with the rules that any alcohol consumed during a game by a player meant an instant disqualification of the team for that game. Anyone got the actual rule handy?

For the record, we're putting in a complaint about another team for this reason from our last round in one of our grades. Drinking before and during the game.

If I was a parent watching my 15 or 16 year old son play against older blokes who are on the piss, I'd think twice about whether to let them play.

There's just no need to do it. Leave it until after the game, then go as hard as you want.

Perhaps the Ramblers top 8 batsmen could have a few drinks and loosen up a touch with the bat. Mind you, after 9 catches and a run out, loosening up is the last thing we really need.

CK, i remember you several 'swing and a miss' efforts at joan's pantry last year. Shame we won't get to see it again. I love cheap wickets early.

At the WYC we don't mind seeing swings and misses inbetween the 6's and 4's :D ;) .

I guess this is why the association did have an umpire there for woodcroft because other teams had probably been complaining about there lack of respect for the opposition and the rules. Probably makes the decision look good to give the game an umpire. Seen as they walked off before the end of play do they automatically lose the game outright or what is the result of the game going to be?

No one really knows, we are pushing for outright as we've past their score already so if the game is awarded to us, it has to be as an outright.

I guess the association will have to decide during the week as to what will happen. I doubt half their team will even bother to show up next week if they are required to play.

keswick are amazing and will steam roll WYC for 43 next week! Pressy was definately out with an amzing delivery that did it all. swung in, swung out, swung in again, then it cut away of the deck, caught a very thick edge and into the gloves. Be afraid WYC, be very afraid!

S**t by woodcroft.

How can WYC be steamrolled for 43 when they are already 1/60?
